'Nikita' kicks off 'Looks Do Kill' campaign

Comic-Con really gets going on Thursday, July 22, but early attendees will be treated to a sneak peek of The CW's new show "Nikita" on Wednesday night, along with a look at the first poster to be used in outdoor, online and print marketing campaigns for the upcoming Fall TV season premiere.

For those who can't make it down to San Diego, Zap2it has your very first, first look at the "Looks Do Kill" campaign. Girl, guns, killer heels and a thigh tattoo. It's got it all:

nikita-poster.jpg"Nikita" stars Maggie Q as a government-trained assassin who turns on the secret agency that created her and makes it her personal mission to take it down.

For TV promos, an accompanying video spot has been created. Same red room. More family-hour friendly attire:

"Nikita" premieres Thursday, Sept. 9 at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.

She's no Peta Wilson.

HOT. Hearing the pilot kicks a$$ too, so I'm getting stoked for this show.

Seems to be a completely different story, which could be cool. At least she's hot. lol

Hey look! A half-naked girl with a gun! It's like waving a piece of meat in front of a dog...

I loved Peta Wilson in the original series, but I'm looking forward with an open mind to this new version. Hopefully it will kick butt.

Looks solid, and I hope it doesn't disappoint!

Elektra much?

Do TV networks not have any original ideas these days. We either end up with the same show set in different cities, or remakes of 80's and 90's shows.

The Unusuals was different, but scheduling got messed around with so viewers never had a chance to get into it, thus it got cancelled. Jeremy renner had the last laugh though, as he got to star in The Hurt Locker.

The thigh tattoo is hideous.

I agree with Lee. She is no Peta Wilson. It all looks a bit too polished for my liking and not as dark. I think Peta Wilson was feistier, grittier, and more raw like an unpolished diamond but one razor sharp enough that she could still cut glass. All that, with child-like vulnerability added to make a great mix of emotions in every episode.

I also think that there will never be another Birkoff & Jason like Matthew Ferguson's Birkoff & Jason as far as I'm concerned. No one could breathe life into the sweet, gorgeous computer genius with such heart and soul like he did. If he hadn't I wouldn't have become the big fan of him I am today.

In fact, all the cast of the old series were perfect for the roles in which they were cast.

I'm no script writer but I'd prefer to see a new series with the old cast(out of who's characters survived) mixed with new blood to replace the characters that died off in the last series.

If they also bring the new series here to the UK I might give it a try but I'm really doubtful. For sure I wouldn't be as utterly hooked on it, like a LFN junkie, as I was on the old series.

This is just my opinion though and who knows, I may see it and eat my words. We shall see.....
