Liam Neeson catches 'The Big C' [Updated]

liam-neeson2-getty-320.jpgUPDATE: A description of Neeson's character is below.

Add one more prominent name to the list of guest stars on Showtime's new series "The Big C."

Liam Neeson ("The A-Team," "Taken") will make a guest appearance on the show, the Hartford Courant reports. He'll be playing a character named "Bee Man," who Laura Linney's (Neeson's "Kinsey" co-star) consults about possible alternative cancer treatments.

"The Big C" will be Neeson's first on-camera appearance in an American TV series in better than 20 years (since a 1986 episode of "Miami Vice," to be exact). He did voice work on "The Simpsons" a few years back.

Linney stars in "The Big C" as a suburbanite whose cancer diagnosis gives her a new outlook on life. Oliver Platt plays her husband, and "Precious" star Gabourey Sidibe has a recurring part.

Other guest stars for the first season include Cynthia Nixon ("Sex and the City"), Idris Elba ("The Wire") and Reid Scott ("My Boys").

"The Big C" premieres Aug. 16.

Best of luck, Liam, and for Pete's sake: one does NOT CATCH cancer. It's a role of the dice. Caught early enough and treated aggressively cancer is NOT a death sentence for most of us. God Bless and take care of yourself....

To the previous poster Ruth Kivela: You are a moron. The article is saying Liam Neeson is going to be guesting on a show called The Big C. He does not have cancer.

Commenting on the article:
I love seeing Liam Neeson and Laura Linney act together. This will be great.
