Joss Whedon official on 'The Avengers,' Guillermo del Toro gets 'Haunted'
While you were camped out at the convention center -- or, you know, not in San Diego -- here's some of what happened at Comic-Con Thursday (July 22):We've known for a long time that Joss Whedon will direct "The Avengers," but he made the official-official announcement during a panel with J.J. Abrams. [IGN]
Remember that Eddie Murphy movie "The Haunted Mansion"? Well, forget it. "Pan's Labyrinth" and "Hellboy" director Guillermo del Toro will direct his own take on the spooky-funny Disney ride. [Heat Vision]
The official "Chuck" Comic-Con poster pays awesome homage to "WarGames," and the two winning fan-submitted posters are pretty cool too. [The Live Feed]
Showtime debuted a preview of the second season of "Dexter Early Cuts: Dark Echo," the animated web series. In this second season, early-20s Dexter is challenged by a copy-cat killer who does not follow any sort of code. [Showtime]
