'Jersey Shore' says goodbye to Angelina Pivarnick, hello Seaside Heights
After the "Jersey Shore" cast and MTV hit a stalemate over the weekend over its contracts for Season 3, things seem to be moving very quickly now as the crew came to agreement with the network late Tuesday (July 20).While the network continued to state that production was still on schedule, the cast seems to be in a hurry to leave for shooting. They have already begun saying their goodbyes on Twitter, since MTV doesn't allow them to use social networks while shooting.
"Love my fans!!! Hope you guys enjoy Season 2 of 'Jersey Shore'!!!!," tweeted Jenni "JWOWW" Farley. "Signing off for now.... be back in 6 weeks!!! love u guys xoxo."
Vinny Guadagnino poked a little fun at LiLo: "To all my fans, I'm gonna be gone for a while and I will not be able to talk to ya! no I am not going with Lindsay Lohan, but I love you."
According to reports, the cast asked for a raise from $10,0000 to $30,000 an episode and MTV was set to offer a figure close to what they were demanding. In a surprising move, apparently Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino broke from their usual group bartering and struck his own side deal with the network, which could garner the ab-master up to $47,500 an episode.
After the negotiation, a few things have become clear. Angelina Pivarnick is indeed not returning to Seaside after shooting in Miami. And the footage to be shot at the actual "Jersey Shore" will now make up Season 3 of the show instead of Part 2 of Season 2.
MTV has not returned our request for a statement, but we'll update when they do.
"Jersey Shore" Season 2 premieres on Thursday, July 29 on MTV.
