'Jersey Shore' cast close to getting their pay raise, says report
Don't worry folks, the "Situation nation" will soon be in full effect. After news that the "Jersey Shore" cast had gone on strike, holding up production on the second half of Season 2, it seems MTV is ready to pay up.
Despite the fact that executive producer SallyAnn Salsano said the cast was "ready to go," The Hollywood Reporter's sources say the crew have yet to sign their names on the dotted line. They asked for a raise from $10,000 to $30,000 an episode for Season 3. THR's sources say MTV and the cast will agree on a number close to what they're requesting by the end of Monday (July 19).
Reports crept out all weekend that the cast was holding up production set to start back in Seaside Heights in late-July until they signed their contracts.
For some reason, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino cut his own deal in which he stands to receive a bonus if the ratings hit a certain level.
In response to the news, MTV issued a statement that read, "We don't comment on any contractual conversations. Season 2 premieres July 29 and production is on schedule."
What antics do you think Mike will get into for ratings gold?
