'Glee,' please call 'Torchwood's' John Barrowman back about his guest role!
Finally a "Glee" guest star we can totally get behind (other than Betty White, of course)! We've loved John Barrowman for years as Captain Jack Harkness on BBC's "Dr. Who" and "Torchwood" series. And his role as the big bad Patrick Logan in "Desperate Housewives" this past season was uh-mazing. He's hilarious, sings and dances plus he's just all around awesome. So why hasn't "Glee" called him back after he met with the producers?
"I went into 'Glee,'" Barrowman tells Scotland's STV. "Met with them and said I would be interested in being in the show. They said they had followed my career, they know what I've done, they love what I do."
Yet, with all the faux guest star announcements (Katie Holmes, Snoop Dogg) and the only actual one (Javier Bardem, who we love, but we don't believe his name popped up naturally in the writers' room. Just sayin'), Barrowman is a no-brainer. So, why hasn't "Glee" called him?
"The ball is in their court now," says Barrowman. "Whether it happens or not that's another story. I don't sit around and wait, so I've got to go ahead with other things. But the fact is that I made the move to let them know I'm interested, so who knows? I would love to be on that show."
And we would love to have you on it, John! "Glee," tick tock.

Would love to see John on Glee! I've been a fan since I first saw him a Captain Jack on Doctor Who. He's quite a talant and I love his singing and own a couple of his cd's as well.
Come on, Glee people! Sign him up!!!
Ack! I swear those typos were not there before I hit submit! Wish you had an edit button!
They have enough guest stars lined up for next season. They can use him in season three.
He is a cocky prick. Do not like that man at all. Don't know why all of my fellow gays think that he's the cat's ****.
I've watched him on Dr. Who and Torchwood and I've seen him sing and host the BBC shows about finding Andrew Lloyd Webber a Joseph for his Dreamcoat production and a Maria for Sound of Music and it would be great to see him and hear him sing on Glee - it would be a natural choice in my book - I hope it happens! He's got a great voice!
John Barrowman would be terrific. He's probably one of the biggest male musical theater star in London or New York at the moment. He wouldn't have to be a guest star - he could have a great recurring role.
Enough with real and fake co-stars. Lets try to delve into the character we have already. Plus he want sot be one of Rachel's dads. Rachel dads need to be good old character actors who can come back from time to time not some stunt casting.
He'd be a great addition, but only if it doesn't conflict with his commitment playing Captain Jack on the new season of Torchwood. If I'm watching Torchwood, I'm watching it for Capt. Jack, and don't want to see less of him because John's too busy doing other things. On the other hand, his appearance on Glee might be the only thing that could bring me back to that show. Glee lost me at the start of season 2 with bad hookups and weak story lines (an entire episode revolving around Madonna? Really?)
I would hate to see JB in Glee and I'm a fan! He is a brilliant singer/entertainer & is great as Jack, but he was incredibly BAD in Desperate Housewives...come on admit it... besides he belongs here in the UK, not in the US...if the producers of Glee saw him in DH, and of course they did, then that's the reason they haven't called him!
I think JB on Glee is a no-brainer. If you know anything about his past, his story is what the kids on the show dream of - his casting in "Anything Goes" is the stuff of old-timey Hollywood musicals. Plus, given the audience of the show and the makeup of the creative team, what could be better than hiring a successful, out actor?!?!? It's the best of *all* worlds!
