Edward Norton out of 'The Avengers'; new Hulk will be 'a name actor'
Marvel Studios has now confirmed that it is moving forward on development with its summer 2012 blockbuster "The Avengers," and the studio has decided not to cast Edward Norton in the key role of Bruce Banner, aka The Incredible Hulk.
Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Feige forwarded the following exclusively to HitFix:
"We have made the decision to not bring Ed Norton back to portray the title role of Bruce Banner in the Avengers. Our decision is definitely not one based on monetary factors, but instead rooted in the need for an actor who embodies the creativity and collaborative spirit of our other talented cast members. 'The Avengers' demands players who thrive working as part of an ensemble, as evidenced by Robert [Downey Jr.], Chris H[emsworth], Chris E[vans], Sam [Jackson], Scarlett [Johansson], and all of our talented casts. We are looking to announce a name actor who fulfills these requirements, and is passionate about the iconic role in the coming weeks."
And that, as they say, appears to be that.

This is so stupid! Their whole idea of making it one big Marvel universe just tanked. Had they not started this all WITH Norton's Hulk, it would be fine. But they should have secured this long ago before they began with the cameos and the insistence that it all takes place in the same world.
LAMEEEEEEEEEE
Their nuts...
I thought Ed Norton's version was cool.
So apparently Ed Norton is an ***. Too bad, I always liked him.
@ringofan1- Is that true? Sucks if it is. Funny thing, Marvel points out the "monetary" situation. Because before this statement was released, it was rumored through some "networks" that his price was too high for such little screen time, and his camp wasn't gonna settle for less money. Take it for a grain of salt, but I HIGHLY DOUBT that Marvel is questioning Ed Norton's work ethic. Anybody who knows his work knows just the opposite. In my opinion, this was a MONETARY issue. They can still save face by acquiring Eric Bana.
Ed Norton is known for not being fan friendly when it comes to signing autographs, so you have to wonder if he is kind of difficult to work with in general, any thoughts on this matter are welcome
They talk about talented people and yet ScarJo is on that? LOL OKAY MARVEL KEEP ON MAKING NO SENSE.
