'Community's' Alison Brie talks the fan divide over an Annie and Jeff romance

Community-nbc-Allison-Brie-comic-con-320.jpgThe adorable Alison Brie, who plays Annie on "Community," must feel on top of the world. She'll be starring in "Scream 4" and her other gig, a little show called "Mad Men" premiered with Season 4 on Sunday (July 25).

Zap2it caught up with the gal, whose character is causing a stir on "Community" as a romantic dynamic has built between Annie and Jeff (played by Joel McHale), which seems to have caused a divide among fans.

"Through out the season, there had been a lot of feedback in favor of Annie and Jeff," she says. "And then after the finale, there were a ton of other people that were like, 'What?' 'Scooby-what?' You know, it was just interesting to see. There were two different camps."

She also told us that shooting the food fight this season was nuts, but so was eating all those chicken fingers. "We had to eat them for hours," she tells us. "It was really gross, but super fun."

She didn't give up any details about what we can expect for Season 2, but she definitely knows what she wants.

"I'm hoping that Annie is maybe gonna tone down her sluttiness next season," she jokes. "That's a lie. I'm not hoping that at all. I love it. I hope they run with it."

He is like twice her age. It's creepy.

I think its going to be like Mary and Mr Grant from the Mary Tyler Moore show (going old school)...yes there is attraction but not enough for a real relationship. This way it generates enough talk for people to tune in for next season.

I liked Community because of its awesomeness, but fell in LOVE with it because of the Jeff/Annie storyline. And I don't usually give a flip about which characters end up with which other ones, especially in a show like this, where my primary purpose in watching is to be entertained by truly great comedy, with everything else falling in second place. As long as Community keeps comedy as king - which I have faith in the writers to do, because they're just that good - then the Jeff/Annie storyline forms the lynchpin in the closing argument for following Community regularly. Jeff & Annie get ridiculous love from this fan -- and I'm not alone, as proven by the throngs out there forming websites, videos, works of fiction, and artwork, all in homage to the force that is Jeff/Annie. I haven't seen chemistry like that in ages. Completely organic and unexpected. The age diff doesn't matter. If you haven't caught the fever yet, I encourage you to keep and open mind and give it a chance. Jeff & Annie are just one more compelling reason to love the show.

ALISON BRIE: Rock on!

I really hope they end the Jeff/Annie storyline. The finale transformed Jeff into the "gateway douchebag" he discussed in a previous episode. At this rate, Annie may as well make it her goal to get with all of Britta's exes. Ugh. Get it over with and work on developing Jeff and Britta, who already make a fantastic team reminiscent of Jim and Pam.

LOVE her. Great actress. Plays the serious on Mad Men and awesome as Annie on Community. Love the Jeff-Annie romance, the Britta idea has worn off long ago. Find her someone new.

Britta and Jeff might as well be brother and sister. Their dynamic is not romantic or chemistry filled to me at all.

Jeff is only 13 years older than Annie. NOT twice her age.

People that don't like the couple are using the age difference as an excuse.
