'American Idol' report : Steven Tyler to round out the judges' panel

With Simon Cowell already gone and the recent departure of Ellen DeGeneres and (possibly) Kara DioGuardi, Nigel Lythgoe may indeed get (most of) his wish -- a new whole panel on "American Idol."Steven Tyler is rumored to be the next "Idol" judge announced, according to TMZ. Tyler would join Jennifer Lopez as the latest judge; news of her addition to the show leaked late Thursday night (July 29). Randy Jackson appears to be the only experienced judge left on the panel. We'll know for sure after FOX's Summer Press Tour panel Monday, Aug. 2 -- the announcement will most likely be officially made there.
What do you think of Tyler and Lopez as possible "Idol" judges, fans? One thing is for certain -- "American Idol" has all but guaranteed to get people to tune in if the Aerosmith frontman and Jenny from the block are indeed the new judges. They're big names, they're music industry icons and no one has any idea how they'll do as judges, so the viewership will most likely be strong, at least initially. What remains to be seen is how they do after the first couple episodes.

Not happy about Steven Tyler at all !!! He may be a talented lead singer for Aerosmith... But I don't see how he has contributed to anyone's music career outside of his own. American Idol is on life support and between him and J-Lo... The show is definitely in a coma !!!
The sooner this garbage hour gets yanked off the air, the better. It's a cancer upon the music industry, and washed-up performers such as Liv's daddy and J-Schmoe aren't going to raise ratings one iota. No Simon=no reason to watch for all but the lamest reality TV addicts.
I think Tyler would contribute more than J-Lo. J-Lo joining the cast (if it's true) just shows her career is going nowhere.
Admit it---you watched Idol just to hear what outrageous thing Simon would say next! Well, Tyler won't be any different. He's outspoken, certainly not shy, and he's a music industry veteran. After this past dismal season, I would welcome him aboard. Plus, he'll probably put that snotty Miss J-Lo in her place more than once. Bring it on!!!

OVER 40 yrs. He has seen and heard
it all.
J-lo's last 3 albums flopped, her
last tour was canceled do to terrible
ticked sales. She has NOTHING to add
to Idol. Is she going to advise
the idolists how to wear fur and
ditch your neighborhood? Cuz that
is all she is known for.

I just hope Kara is there long enough for Steven Tyler to make her eat crow for her "early Aerosmith" stupidity in the Kris Allen/Adam Lambert season.
Idol shouldn't put Tyler on. He'll kill it! What a bad look for the Idol brank.
