'American Idol' report: Jennifer Lopez to join judges' panel

Ellen DeGeneres' "American Idol" body is barely cold and now word is leaking that Jennifer Lopez may be replacing her at the judges' table.Both Deadline and Gossip Cop are reporting that Jennifer Lopez has been tapped as the new "Idol" judge. Deadline says Lopez' old manager Benny Medina "orchestrated the meeting with the 'American Idol' producers a month ago, and negotiations have been ongoing ever since."
Gossip Cop is also reporting that an offer has been extended to Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler. This comes on the heels of rumors that FOX is readying a big announcement as to the future of the "Idol" judges for their Summer Press Tour panel on Monday, Aug. 2. Could these be the new judges?
Zap2it reached out to FOX for confirmation and they have no comment at this time.

I think she would be a perfect replacement for Paula! Music background, funny, compassionate and knowledgeable. She's the first name I've heard that makes sense in a year.
Does this mean her career is over? I think she's still viable as a singer!/ dancer, or is she just going to make movies? Seems Idol, while making you wealthy, takes a lot of time. I vote for Steve Tyler, who needs a rest and has the creds to do the job
I hope that is not all they are hoping to announce. That is no improvement what so ever.
Now there are two names that seem to be great ideas. I'd definately be on board with next season if these were the two new judges, although I do hope Kara and Randy get replaced as well.
She is the perfect choice, as she is already as irrelevant as the show is rapidly becoming.
No, no, no!!!! Say the Selena rip off isn't joining "American Idol" as a judge? I have been delighted that this woman who capitalized over the death of the VERY talented Selena was ending her 15 minutes of fame. She is a dud singing! She is beautiful but that's it. Send to the has been home and do not make her 15 minutes extend way longer then shouldn't been in the first place.
FOX may have to pull out the star power to keep randy and kara company.. so many name drops.. i say when top 10 rolls around have the mentor that comes in be the 3rd judge

I actually think JLo is a perfect fit. Now if they would just get rid of Kara I may be able to stomach the show again. That Kara has been like nails on a chalkboard to me since her first appearance. Last season was even worse!
