'American Idol': David Archuleta's new album gets title, release date

Former "American Idol" runner-up David Archuleta has set a release date for his new album.The album -- which also has a title now, "Other Side of Down" -- will be available in stores and online on Sept. 14, Archuleta announced on his website. The first single from it, "Something 'Bout Love," has been streaming on the site for a couple weeks and goes on sale on Tuesday (July 20).
Archuleta's first album, released a few months after he finished second to David Cook on "Idol" in 2008, peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard album charts. He also released a holiday album, "Christmas from the Heart," which got as high as No. 30 last year.
There's no word yet on whether Archuleta will go on tour to support "Other Side of Down," but the release date announcement does tell fans to "stay tuned for more great news."

OMG, they said the title is one of his favorite songs on the album. I thought Something 'Bout Love would be smash, and there will be more amazing songs to come!!! Can't wait!!
OMG, a 3rd one..?? Can't wait to get it - LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Archie - thought he should've won the 7th season, although I must - reluctantly - admit that David Cook really evolved from when he started. Was especially impressed with his Song of the Night song from Phantom of the Opera - that one showed that he has a good voice. Whereas David Archie was good way from the start. Like Simon said - Archie was the one to beat, and Cook did just that. Anyway, look forward to getting Archie's 3rd album - I have the other/previous 2.

I am so excited about the release of David Archuleta's new single "Something Bout Love" next week...and now great news about the album to be released Sept. 14! I love David's voice and music and have attended many of his concerts. I believe he is such an amazing singer/songwriter. I can't wait to hear his new music as I know he has worked on a lot of the songs. And he is working on his music video today -- great album cover name too!
