TV ratings: Lakers, ABC win Thursday

The NBA Finals got off to a decent start in the Nielsens Thursday, with the Los Angeles Lakers' win over the Boston Celtics improving a little in viewers over Game 1 of last year's Finals.

ABC drew 10.2 million viewers and a 6.3 rating/11 share in households for the night; those numbers will change some with adjustments for the live NBA telecast. FOX (8.5 million, 5.2/9) came in second, followed by CBS (7.1 million, 4.7/8). NBC's 2.7 million viewers and 1.8/3 was good enough for fourth. The CW scored 1.35 million viewers and a 0.9/2 as encores of the three-year-old series "Moonlight" did OK, at least by the standards of reruns on The CW.

ABC also led among adults 18-49 with a 3.9 rating, even with the first game last year. FOX, 3.2, came in second. There was a sizable drop from there to third-place CBS, 1.5. NBC averaged 1.2 in the demographic and The CW 0.5.

I really like 100 Questions!!
Its funny, hip, and the cast is really sexy.

It reminds me of these cool 90s sitcoms that we used to watch on NBC.

Too bad it wont last long...
NBC should give it a chance.

Again, the high re-run numbers of The Mentalist impress, while The Office and the rest of NBC's lineup keeps showing its true weakness.

Clearly, nobody at NBC is actually looking at those numbers. They've been terrible for years.

At CW, one can't help but laugh that a re-run of a CBS bomb out-rated their "big hit"'s re-run, even of the 0.1 difference is statistically insignificant.

Wrong Finch......NBC and ABC are for old people and morons.

CBS is for old people.

That's pretty good, Finch. Maybe next week, you'll be able to string together even more words and come up with a brand new sentence! How grand for you! Your teachers must be so proud!

*sarcasm concluded*

@AaronR: It's quite generous of you to include sarcasm. ;)

What is sad is that Hollywood's unabashed ageism somehow makes it feel OK to some people to be ageist... :(

Run along now, Rena. Les is missing your daily teabagging you crab infested b1tch!

CBS is for old people.

CBS is for old people.

CBS is for REALLY old people!
