Fast National ratings for Sunday, June 13, 2010.Another Sunday night, another Celtics defeat of the Lakers NBA finals, another win for ABC.
Game 5 of the Lakers-Celtics NBC finals brought ABC an even bigger win than the previous Sunday night. It earned a 7.6 share/13 households and 12.8 million viewers average for the night. The 2010 Tony Awards on CBS garnered a second-place finish with 4.8/8 and 7.5 million viewers. NBC was in third with a 2.3/4 and 3.6 million viewers, with FOX right on its heels with a 2.0/3 and 3.4 million viewers.
The 18-49 demo average was an even bigger win for ABC at 4.8 share. FOX's animated series earned it a second-place 1.5, CBS' Tonys a 1.2 and NBC's "Dateline" and reruns a 1.0.

Nice to see the NBA finals are drawing NFL size ratings. First LOST achieved this feet in May and now NBA. Plus with Soccer being red hot on ABC looks like people are embracing more civil type sports and European football versus American Football. Sad how CBS and NBC over paid for such a boring sport.
With the premier of ABC new Sunday dramas looks like this ratings accomplishment on Sundays that started 6 years ago with DH with continue. Too bad CBS is just sitting on the sidelines and doing nothing and NBC is just becoming a 2nd rate cable network with all their reality programming. Its like no thank you Ill take NBC's Bravo over NBC's network any day, boring.
Oh, I wouldn't say that NBC has given up, per se. But it's like in boxing...when you've been knocked down a half dozen times in the first round, sometimes it's just best to stay down.
And I agree that Bravo is much superior to the mothership.
Basketball beating the Tony Awards wasn't all that surprising, really. Awards shows are on the outs and have been for about a decade now, whereas sports has stayed the same or improved, especially if the match-up in the finals is worth watching.
Finally, I definitely agree that CBS needs to shake things up a bit the coming seasons, or they'll end up in the same boat as NBC.

I really think there is one person posting under 5 different names. I admit, I've posted under the legendary **** name before, but with the tv season over its not as fun so I'll wait til next season. Have fun watching boring old cop shows on cbs while I'm out everyday at the beach, poor things, lol...
Re:Donna. You need to know a bit of the history. The **** handle is attached to a chronic troll on these boards, rendering everything posted under that name as subject to question. Back on point, I'm not surprised to see the Tony's beaten by the NBA. Despite the star power, those awards have been pretty much irrelevant to most viewers for decades, since only the tiniest fraction will ever actually get to see the productions being awarded, unlike the Oscars or Grammys where the awards are given to products that most people will be able to view afterwards.
