So Glee, the anointed "big hit" that will lead FOX next year is coming in 3rd... beaten by a re-run of NCIS Los Angeles...
I think there is no better illustration of the emptiness of the hype that surrounds that show.
Glee may do a good job selling CDs, but it's not doing so good a job getting big ratings, is it?
At CBS, I still think The Good Wife is losing too much of its lead-in and should have been replaced for next year.
CBS should have looked at that time-slot as an opportunity to increase their lead instead of being super-conservative to the point of recklessness.
Are you not paying attention.....All season long The Good Wife has been among the top rated shows every week. In my opinion this show is one of the best drama's in TV history.
@Charles: I have been paying close attention, and The Good Wife regularly rated 40% lower than NCIS. Now granted NCIS:L.A. did lose some of that great lead-in, but The Good Wife lost even more.
This is a case where (as with Glee) raw numbers can be misleading as the lead-in effect makes those shows look stronger than they really were.
To give an example, The Mentalist last year often held over 100% of its lead-in last year, which is why it is now anchoring Thursday.
The NCIS L.A. numbers are certainly acceptable but those for The Good Wife are rather low which is why I think that CBS acted rashly by not taking a crack at another show.
Rena: Keep in mind the Good Wife may not rerun well. But first run eps usually are top rated and win the 10:00 PM time slot.
I have to admit that we have been holdouts in our house about watching Glee- just didn't seem interesting based on preview clips- but have heard some musical numbers elsewhere and know it gets great reviews so we decided to give it a try last night since there was NOTHING on until Justified at 10 o'clock- (if you haven't seen that show you are MISSING OUT!!)- we lasted about 10 minutes as the show got dumber and dumber with every new scene and setting- we love music in our house and Glee probably has many good numbers but it's not worth the pain of watching the rest of the foolishness to get there. Just our opinion...obviously
And one more thing- CBS Tuesday night lineup is the best, bar none, of any network any night. It is now Tuesday, CBS, must see TV!! Expect no changes there statistical, would be "experts"
@Fred: You do make a good point. However, I think the re-runs were following about the same pattern of settling at 60% of NCIS levels.
Those numbers make The Good Wife a decent performer for CBS (and certainly its fans, like Charles, will be happy to see it come back)
I just think CBS should aim higher and have tried another show there, perhaps keeping The Good Wife as a mid-season option to fill-in for, for instance Hawaii 5-O when it will collapse, and really make Tuesday as "must-see TV" as they can.
the rating seem tight for june
Glee is bringing FOX more advertising revenue than NCIS: LA is for CBS. Glee's 3.9 adults 18-49 trounced all of CBS line-up. Sorry Rena but advertisers don't care about ur crusty geriatric ***!
Ms. C, Rena is just a know it all. Dont let her Street Teamer rude ways get to you. Not sure why she is still allowed to post her hate on this site.
