'True Blood': HBO renews the show for a fangtastic fourth season
Season 3 of HBO's hit, "True Blood," is just getting started and already the network has announced that it has renewed the show for a fourth season."The new season of 'True Blood' is off to a terrific start," says HBO Programming President, Michael Lombardo. "As enthusiasm for this unique show continues to build among both subscribers and critics, we're looking forward to more chills from Alan Ball and his gifted team next year."
The network has ordered 12 new episodes, which will begin production in early-2011 in Los Angeles and air later that summer.
"I am beyond thrilled to be able to continue working with this amazing cast and crew," says creator and executive producer, Alan Ball. "This is the most fun I have ever had."
The third-season premiere of the HBO series drew 5.1 million viewers on Sunday, June 13 -- a big improvement over the 3.7 million who tuned into the Season 2 premiere last summer. So, we're sure the network is banking that Season 4's ratings will continue to kill.

Yay!!!!!!!!!!
I am happy to hear the show is renewed already - this season seems to be shaping up to be even better than the last one - for one thing, nothing says German efficiency like Nazi werewolves! haha - maybe next season they will have them portrayed as terrorist werewolves. Either way, I'll be watching!
I'm happy...but a downside to these cable shows...only 12 episodes...it's over before you know it :(
Did people like the last 1/2 of season 2? I thought it really went downhill fast
Steve - parts of last season were pretty weak (*cough*Maryann*cough*). The show can only go up from there.
I'm so excited about the introduction of the Weres and glad they decided to use real wolves instead of CGI. It'll be interesting to see which storylines from the books they use. I think people are reading too much into the Nazi thing. It's like Eric explained, the Weres have been around a lot longer than WWII. I think they just choose to keep the name and branding, but don't actually follow the Nazi ideology.
Totally agree that it sucks that these seasons are only 12 episodes. It feels like we wait forever for just a few weeks of excitement.
