'True Blood': HBO apologizes for viral marketing madness
Are you getting sick of seeing a new "True Blood" poster or billboard or iPhone app or minisode popping up everywhere you look? We didn't think so. If you're like us, you're loving HBO's extensive viral marketing campaign for the hit show. It makes the wait that much easier.
In a new twist, HBO's latest marketing ploy is a tongue-in-cheek apology for HBO's marketing ploys.
Yes, you read that right. In the official promotional video released June 10, Brian Fisher, "a junior marketing associate here in the marketing department of Home Box Office," explains that they may have tried to "make too much of a splash in showbiz."
Don't miss the hilarious video. That "Pools of True Blood" thing could've been kind of cool, actually, but we'll pass on the exploding greeting cards and the First Annual Coffin River Race, which had dire results.
"You never think when you step into a coffin that it'll be the last place you lay," Fisher says remorsefully. "But usually wood is more buoyant."

I like the card gag. I was hoping he'd open one at the end!
This is literally one of the worst scripted shows on TV. The dialogue is god-awful, the "story" and "characters" couldnt be more heavy-handed and at the same time boring and un-interesting.
Also, they (the vampires) with their craptastic fast-moving effect and Spencer's gifts fangs, are about as scary as a hello-kitty backpack.
Why is this damn show coming back. Damn the vampire craze. lol
