Tony Robbins pursues his own 'Breakthrough' in weekly TV
Tony Robbins is no stranger to reality television, but don't expect to see him dancing, nor facing Donald Trump in a boardroom. The motivational expert brings his expertise in helping others to be their best in "Breakthrough With Tony Robbins," an NBC series premiering July 27. He admits he might not be at his own best if he did ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" or NBC's "The Celebrity Apprentice," though he's fielded offers from both shows.
"Donald is a friend of mine, but ['The Celebrity Apprentice' is] not something I personally want to do," Robbins tells Zap2it. "'Dancing With the Stars' has approached me twice. I figure I already have enough to make fun of, with my teeth and my normal style, without adding the dancing part to it. I have to try to have people take me a little seriously if I'm going to keep coaching people."
Indeed, the ever-energetic and passionate Robbins believes "Breakthrough" has the potential to showcase his success pointers on their biggest scale yet, even with the bounty of infomercials and speaking engagements he's done over the years.
"It's very helpful for everybody if you reach more people," Robbins reasons, "but if this is 'The Wizard of Oz,' it's got to be about Dorothy. If it's about Tony, someone at home can't make the changes. My hope is that the things you see me do with these people -- or that, more importantly, I've created for these people to do -- you can go and do yourself.
"It's not like you can look at somebody else and go, 'Well, they were lucky.' Some people will still do that and think, `I couldn't do that' ... but you could. You can do any of these things, by making some choices. When you're done watching this, you won't just be moved. You'll think, 'Maybe I can make that shift for myself.' That's the part of the show I'm the most happy about."

Tony is brilliant. He's studied the patterns of human behavior all his life and guides people into amazing turnarounds with just a few well-picked pieces of insight and wisdom. I attended one of his 50-hour seminars and it was an amazing experience. People who were struggling with serious issues stood up as examples, he worked with them in front of everybody, and everyone could apply the lessons to their own lives. He's a total genius and a generous, loving, wise teacher. I can't wait for the show!
I can't wait to watch Tony in action again. I attended his seminar back in 1992 and did not know that after 5 hours we were expected to do the fire walk.
I did not believe I could do it because years ago I had suffered 3rd degree burns on my feet. I was a baton twirler in high school and was rehearsing with the band during the summer. I had flip flops on and one of them busted while marching on the boiling hot pavement.
This is the kind of pain you NEVER forget.
There were approximately 1000 of us at the Hilton Hotel @ LAX and he told us to take off our shoes & socks and walk up to the roof of the Hotel where 12 lines of fire coals were waiting. I went through the motions fearing I would quit just before walking over the red hot coals and just hoped for a miracle.
I was one of the lucky ones. Tony was at the front of my line and when it was my turn to walk, he asked me: "Are you ready?" (how can you tell Tony no?). He said "Just repeat: COOL MOSS...COOL MOSS".
Well, the drumbeats synchronized with my heart and I looked up to the starry sky and DID IT!!
After they threw cold water at my feet, I ran to the back of the line again to do it again because I didn't believe I had done it.
Tony said: "Always remember that if were able to walk on fire today, you can achieve anything you set your heart out to do."
He was RIGHT!! Thank you Tony.
how does one stay positive in this economy, few jobs, i have 3 jobs but little money and very frustrated
as how to solve
I Can't wait to watch this on Tue. I think its just what we need today to encourage people and give them hope that even in tough times we can not only survive but thrive!
Tony,
Not only are you drop dead gorgeous, you are beautiful from the inside out. I can't afford any of your books at the moment so am enjoying your show. Your so inspiring! I wonder when you will be in San Diego again? Any chance of seeing you in person?
