'The Cape': Vinnie Jones to play scary-looking criminal

vinnie-jones-getty.jpgVinnie Jones has landed his first regular TV role. Prepare to see his as a scary man with bad skin on NBC's "The Cape."

Best known for his touch guy persona in films like "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels," "Snatch" and "X-Men: The Last Stand," the British actor will continue to play the kind of role he does best. Jones will be Scales, a powerful criminal with a rare skin condition that makes him look like he has green and gold scales, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Jones, who was a guest star in the pilot, joins previously cast regulars David Lyons, Jennifer Ferrin and James Frain.

The midseason NBC drama is about a cop (Lyons) who is framed for murder and then presumed dead. In order to clear his name and get back to his family, he takes on the persona of his son's favorite comic book hero, The Cape.
