'Supernatural': Jensen Ackles makes directorial debut on 'Weekend at Bobby's'
The "Supernatural" cast and crew are getting a head start on Season 6. The CW confirms that Jensen Ackles and the rest of the gang have already assembled in Vancouver to begin production on the episode "Weekend at Bobby's," which Ackles will direct."Weekend at Bobby's" is the fourth episode of the season, but will be shot first. The schedule was arranged to give Ackles time to prepare before his directorial debut. The normal shooting schedule will resume in July.
Of course, Jim Beaver will guest star as Bobby Singer in the episode. As Ackles gets a taste of life behind-the-camera, Beaver is getting a chance to see what it's like in Jensen's shoes. Sources confirm that the episode centers around Bobby's character, and will also feature a guest appearance by Kim Rhodes as Sheriff Jody Mills, who helped the Winchesters and Bobby fight off zombies in the Season 5 episode "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid."
Beaver tweeted about his unusually heavy schedule. "Having watched lots of TV stars at work, I knew being the single lead on a series is the hardest job in the acting biz. Getting a taste now."
The single lead? Does that mean Jared Padalecki will be MIA in Episode 4? Say it ain't so!

Jensen Ackles Director...totally AWESOME!
Agree. It is awesome that Jensen get a chance to direct. I could care less about Bobby being the lead, though. I love Jim Beaver, but loathe his character due to the last seasons.
Whether Sam is in the episode or not, doesn`t matter to me. I sure hope he isn`t, `cause Sam and Bobby characters are what makes me consider not watching SPN season 6. These two characters kill the show for me! - Yep, still a bit bitter about the big turnaround from season 4 to 5. - And still incredibly flabbergasted concerning the lame dialogues from Bobby concerning Sam ("He is a hero..bla bla" - As if Dean isn`t....)
If the writers don`t step up and write better episodes - and don`t make it all about Sam - then maybe I will keep watching. Jensen as a director, may be interesting, but not enough!
You know what i cant stand some people give more attention to one charater than the other, it just makes the fan bitter and stupid, without sam, its no dean and without dean there is no sam, pshh please Sam/Jared made it good, last season, without him, no story line, ******* DUH!! Jensen directing is great, i hope he does a good job, because if he doesnt then im just going to say that actors periode, shouldnt be directing, because what i seen so far is a waste of film when actors directing, most of the time! SO GO JENSEN GO!
I just wish they kill Bobby already, they completly ruined his character these last season and half, I no longer can stand him.
As for Sam, he completly gets on my nerves. I thought the show was about 2 brother yet this last season showed me it's all about precious Sam while Dean is treated like a convinient luggage.
Jensen and Misha are the reason I keep coming back to this awful show.
Ah, the bitterness of some fans is delicious. Bwa ha ha.
Wow some bitter Dean fans here. If a character isn't falling over themselves to worship Dean then KILL THEM OFF ALREADY OMG!
Anyhoo, I wish Jensen the best in his directorial debut, I am sure he will do a fantastic job. Sam will be in the episode of course, why wouldn't he be? Feels like the writer of this article is just trying to stir up controversy where it isn't needed.
Oh and Dean fans? Keep the butthurt coming, even after all this time its still delicious.
Wow, Steffi, can you be anymore rude?
Anyway, I support Jensen and I think he'll do a great job as a director.
Congratulations Jensen! Your episode is going to be awesome.
Steffi, being bitter and butthurt sure worked for the samfans in season 4 since you got everything you wanted in season 5. I think some Dean fans are just following their lead.
Following the lead? Wasn't it the Dean fans who told everybody to shut up and quit watching? Bwa ha ha.
I'm having a blast with the monumental butthurt.
