'Real Housewives NJ' preview: Caroline Manzo on Jacqueline Laurita and her daughter
In the last few episodes of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," we've watched as Jacqueline Laurita and her daughter, Ashley, have been having a rocky time with their relationship.
In the preview above for Monday's (June 14) episode, the guys are having poker night over at Jacqueline's house when an argument breaks out between her and Ashley. Jacqueline's sister-in-law and the show's most solid matriarch, Caroline Manzo, arrived just as Ashley was leaving the house.
"It doesn't take much to escalate," Caroline tells Zap2it. "Ashley is a very -- what is the word I want to use -- she is very sensitive. All Jacqueline said is 'You look like grandma. You look like grandma when she was younger.' And Ashley took it the wrong way."
It's obvious that Ashley was showing some disrespect for Jacqueline, which is something Caroline wouldn't tolerate.
"The problem is Ashley's response," Caroline says. "So, you know, when your mom says something to you, guess what? You shut your mouth. But Ashley does not shut her mouth. One word led to another, and out Ashley went."
In the end, she knows Ashley will grow out of it, because, after all, she's a lot like her mother.
"I always laugh at Jacqueline," she says. "Like Jacqueline will tell you stories, and Jacqueline will say, too, when she was younger she wasn't exactly the easiest kid to deal with, because she is very strong minded. So is Ashley. She is her mother's daughter without a doubt. But you see Jacqueline grew up, she grew out of it. So will Ashley."
