'Party Down' finale: Jane Lynch returns
"Party Down," the funniest comedy about Hollywood cater-waiters ever produced, ends its second season Friday (June 25) with a wedding and a reunion.Jane Lynch, who starred on the show last season before moving on to breakout stardom in "Glee," returns for the finale as Constance Carmell, the former Party Down waitress who's now getting married to, apparently, the man of her dreams. This being "Party Down," that man (played by Alex Rocco) is a good 20 years older than her and in rather poor physical condition.
In the clip below, Constance reunites with her former co-workers -- and Lydia (Megan Mullally), her replacement -- and introduces them to her husband-to-be.
You might want to get your fill of the finale (which Starz streamed online and on demand in advance of Friday's on-air debut), though, because the show's future is uncertain. Starz hasn't greenlit a third season yet, and lead actor Adam Scott is moving on to a regular role on "Parks and Recreation" next season. (Though he does say he'll be able to appear in three episodes of "Party Down" if it comes back.) If Friday's episode is indeed it for the show, it's given us two seasons of some of the best comedy on TV.
Here's a preview of the finale (warning: There's some salty language).

I really, really, REALLY hope this isn't the last episode of this show. It is hands down one of the funniest on television and not having it come back next season would break my heart. Also, I know Adam Scott will be a regular on Parks & Rec but since they're not back till midseason now on NBC couldn't he work out shooting more than 3 episodes of Party Down now? Seems do-able, no? Please try to find out!!
Katie - Generally if someone is a regular on one show, as Adam Scott will be on "Parks and Rec" next year, they're not allowed to take significant roles on other shows. He actually negotiated the 3-episode appearance rather than 1 ep, a la Jane Lynch.
