'No Ordinary Family': Christina Chang, Tate Donovan 'not exiting entirely'

christina-chang-tate-donovan.jpgChristina Chang and Tate Donovan are not entirely exiting "No Ordinary Family," the ABC superhero-themed family show slated for a fall 2010 premiere.

ABC confirms to Zap2it that "their roles are still going to be in the first episode. It's more of a situation where creatively there's nowhere for the characters to go ... there's nothing to write for them, it's not about acting abilities. They're not exiting entirely, you might see them again in other episodes."

Chang was cast as Yvonne Cho, a cop who works Michael Chiklis' Jim Powell (the father of the superhero family), while Tate Donovan was cast as Mitch McCutcheon, a mysterious pilot. The show focuses on the changes the Powell family experiences after their plane crashes in the Amazon River.

"No Ordinary Family" will air on Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET on ABC starting in the fall. Check out our preview clip here.
