'Michael Jackson: After Life,' 'A Mother's Story' specials - did you watch?

katherine-jackson-abc.jpgOn the one-year anniversary of Michael Jackson's death, the television specials were legion. Two that ran in prime time on June 25 were "Michael Jackson: After Life" on ABC's "20/20" and "Michael Jackson: A Mother's Story" on "Dateline NBC."

"After Life" was an up close and personal look at the final days of Michael Jackson's life, followed by the hoopla surrounding his death and memorial. There were morbid details, like Jackson's condition in those final days ("one side of my body is hot and one side is very cold") and his deathbed begging for his "milk," or the milky-white narcotic propofol.

"A Mother's Story" was a more tender look at Jackson's life. It featured anecdotes and reminiscing from his mother Katherine. She recalls knowing Jackson was going to be musically talented when he danced along with the washing machine noises as a toddler. Katherine also revealed that her favorite songs were the Jackson 5's "Man of War" and "Man in the Mirror" from Jackson's solo career. Katherine will also be putting out a coffee table book of personal memories titled "Never Can Say Goodbye."

So ... did you watch either special? What did you think?

I BEALIVE MIKE SPOKE ALOT OF WHAT IS HAPPING NOW IN THE WORLD.I THINK HE WAS TRYING TO WORN US/MJ.PROFIT OF GOD.(BP)..

I really didn't see much value in this special as far as shedding any light on MJ's early demise. If you ask me...every single person who aided him, served him in any fashion was just an *** kisser and enabler to him. Those three people at the end talking about their relationship with him saying they were "concerned" or worried about him.. but not one told him to get help for his addiction to drugs?! That is NOT love! That is called enabling. That Dr. Murray should have called 911 immediately when he discovered Michael's shallow breathing! Manslaughter! Sadly for Michael he was surrounded with nothing but leeches who cared more about the money they made working for Michael than trying to help him.

I think i will watch this since i'm a big fan of Michael Jackson, and i really miss Michael :(

we miss mj very much, and this is really a much seen story...

darn it! i didnt know about the 20/20 special, i would have dvr'd it! i watched the dateline one, excellent show.

No one loves MJ more than his mother. Losing MJ is heartbreaking for me, if I, the person who never ever meet MJ in my life feel this deep sorrow just like losing a family member, I couldn't even imagine how hard it is for katherine. RIP MJ, you'll be missed

Hey his parents never cared about those kids because they where lazy and wanted those kids to bring home the bacon...and everyone of the brother and sisters are still cashing in with death tribute musicals, movies, tours and Micheal Jackson dead dolls in caskets...come on even the ole dad is cashing in...they dont care....show me the money...louder...SHOW ME THE MONEY...

Overload a year ago -- not gonna watch for 5 years hence.... Also his parents were using the kids and his older brothrs are losers. I don't care to watch them on TV.

i liked MJ, but i won't watch any tv specials about him. i think a lot of ppl are like that.

HELL NO!!
Mike & the ******** are such lyin' phonies.
They preach Jehovah Witness, yet the celebrate every birthday, anniversary, and all the holidays, especially if there's MONEY involved.
What a bunch of losin' creeps.
Just let them stew in their lies, like plastic surgery, drug use, and child rape.
