Katherine Heigl up for an Emmy for 'Desperate Housewives' -- oops!
Gold Derby, Los Angeles Times award show blog, was first to astutely notice that Katherine Heigl was absent from this year's Emmy submissions. When the blog contacted her rep to see if it was a case (like last year) of her not wanting to be submitted, her rep said that her omission this year was in fact an error. There was then a mad scramble to get her on the ballot before voting commenced on Friday, June 4, hence all the hoopla surrounding Heigl's self-submission for an Emmy. Except there was one minor snafu -- Heigl is listed on the official Emmy ballot as playing Dr. Izzie Stevens for "Desperate Housewives," not "Grey's Anatomy." Oops!
Gold Derby says that clearly the goof was made in the last-minute effort to get her added to the ballot and that Emmy reps assure them the goof will be fixed Monday, June 7.
But still -- Wisteria Lane is known for their hot ladies having much drama. We think Izzie would fit right in! And below, check out of the screengrab of the ballot before it got fixed.

Amazing! This may actually increase her chances of winning...
Yeah, I'd love to see the catfight behind the scenes if she did win for the wrong show. It would be more interesting than either show has been in quite a long time.
Heigl did brilliant work as cancer-stricken Izzie. I don't think she's a diva, I think she was dead on a few years back when she declined to a nomination out of respect for the award. So many of the nominees are simply voter favorites rather than truly being nominated for their work. Although I love her, the work she did that year was NOT worthy of a nomination, and she knew that.
She declined previosuly due to a lack of worthiness. Does she really think anything about the show or her character has improved since then?
Talk about three actresses who ALL deserve recognition for their work. I'd have a really hard time choosing between those three listed there.
Wow, Christina Hendricks look fab in that photo!
