'Hell's Kitchen': Andrew calls it quits during dinner service

andrew-hells-kitchen.jpgAndrew decided he'd had enough of Chef Gordon Ramsay's yelling after just two episodes of "Hell's Kitchen."

Wasn't he familiar with the concept of the show before he joined Season 7? Hmm.

Things started to go south for Andrew during dinner service when he came up with (what he thought was) a brilliant idea to add a good batch of mashed potatoes to a near liquid batch. His quick fix was (not surprisingly) deemed a disaster by Ramsay -- and when the easily irritable British chef expressed his disapproval in his usual abrasive style, Andrew decided to *gasp* argue back. The blue team stared on in shock.

OK, so at this point we're thinking either Andrew definitely hadn't seen the show before coming onboard, or he just has a death wish.

Chef Ramsay pulls Andrew out of the kitchen and proceeds to tell him how he's disrespectful and a "joke to the industry." Andrew decides he's had enough, and after declaring that he doesn't want to return to a place where he's yelled at (?!), he walks out the front door.

The voiceover tells us this is only the second time in "Hell's Kitchen" history that a contestant has walked out during dinner service.

We're not sure what that says for the two who have, or for all the rest who have stayed.

My favourite part of the meltdown was when JP was trying to talk him down and said that there are a ton of people who would like to be in his shoes and loopy Andrew literally takes his shoes off and is like 'here you go'. LOL

That dude was insane in the membrane anyways lol

That guy is a loser

I tend to avoid watching Ramsay's shows because I think he displays terrible employer-employee relations (and I've seen people fired for acting the way he does). That said, I agree with the writer here that after 7 years there should be no one signing up for Hell's Kitchen or any of his other shows without knowing what it's all about. It's like boot camp -- everyone gets yelled at. Granted, this guy has made a name for himself as being one of only two contestants to tell Ramsay to stuff himself, so maybe in some respect he wins after all.

I found this very odd but funny. It reminded me of the second episode of season 6, both teams lose and someone eliminates themselves. I wonder what Andrew did with his jacket.

wasn't this the creepy farmer guy who said "he loves to cut up animals, it's all he wants to do" in the premiere? See ya goofball!

And i'm so glad they aren't showing too much of the stupid "customers"...always complaining...have THEY seen the first few seasons?!?!? Nothing comes out on time!

@Alex, if you watch any of his other shows, even the brit version of "Hell's Kitchen", he's no where near as abrasive as he is in the american "Hell's Kitchen". It's an act for americans to get good ratings, simply a caricature. That being said, considering most of the chefs he gets year in, year out are awful, save maybe 2-3 per year, it's kind've needed.

Ramsay didn't do the ritual of dissing Andrew at his picture followed by CGI picture-burn effect. So I'm not completely convinced that Andrew is gone. Plus, in the past when someone quit or was thrown out, the rest of the cooks usually got a bye that week, but this week, he made them go through the drill and he tossed Mikey. So I really think we haven't seen the last of Andrew. He's too goofy to lose so soon. Why has nobody (in the blogs I've read) picked on his weird remarks in the copter about flying over the ghetto?

I think Andrew was a fake contestant, just like Joseph was last year. Ramsay barely got mad a this guy. He was just a little too "good" at being weird.

@ saywhat, i know what u mean but remember when joseph was kick out? his picture wasnt burned and Tony was still booted. But idk, we'll see on tuesday.
@pokeytoons, yea he might just been planted there to make the show more interesting. its like y would any1 sign up for a show they never seen before and the way andrew acted, it seemed like he never saw the sho before.
