'Grey's Anatomy': Jesse Williams stays on but will Sarah Drew stick around?

greys-anatomy-sarah-drew-320.jpg"Grey's Anatomy" kicked off Season 6 last fall with the addition of several new cast members who came to Seattle Grace by way of a hospital merger with Mercy West.

Of course, they couldn't keep everyone around indefinitely, so naturally, they just wrote a crazy gunman into the finale who wiped a couple out, leaving just Jesse Williams' Jackson and Sarah Drew's April still alive.

It was reported Tuesday (June 8) that Williams' deal to stay on as a series regular has closed. No word yet regarding Sarah Drew, though show creator Shonda Rhimes did publicly express her intention to keep them both, provided ABC agrees to it.

Now, I think most would agree that lassoing Williams was a good move as Jackson has great give-and-take with Meredith and, well, he's not hard to look at... his character on "Greek" was dubbed the "Hotness Monster."

Sarah Drew's April, however, is kind of annoying. Not sure what the consensus is on her at this point, so I thought we should discuss.

Do we want April to stay at Seattle Grace?

She was on "Everwood" which makes her A-okay in my book, but what do I know...

I'm going to guess Shonda will see that April was a whiner/nervous Nellie/you name it last season and write her to be transformed through some plot/patient/operation that happens at the hospital. I'm glad they are adding some characters knowing some will leave after contracts are over. Kinda like ER did for all those years.

I love her from her many other appearances (besides Everwood, including guest spots on Private Practice, Glee and Mad Men) and would love to see her stick around. She does come off as annoying so far but that's what growth is for; she needs to stick around in order to be explored further, and I think more people will like her as her arc continues.

Like her - HATE the character. She was good on Everwood. Except for her crush on McDreamy, her storyline was unbearable.

I don't think she was given a very good storyline to work with -- and agree that she was annoying...at first. But her amazing acting in the finale won me over. Plus, she was awesome on Everwood - I think the fans need to give her a chance.

Her character is annoying but again I think it was another victim of the direction the show seems to be stuck in......which is no direction.

Sarah Drew is a good actress. But April as a character is a waste of airtime. Does the show really need another whiny neurotic baby? There are a number of those already.

Alex is very badly in need of some real stories and airtime. Cristina and Owen have yet to have any real happy times (the bad idea to add Teddy as a triangle ruined the PTSD story this year).

We've already had one April, Lexis, and she's still growing up. Don't need another just yet.

I hope they keep April and get rid of Teddy. Sarah Drew rocked the Grey's finale.

April's character, to me, seems too close to little Grey in some aspects so she should have gone via bullet to the head. Why would the shooter not hesitate to shoot the redhead and Karev but did hesitate with her?? She was tres more annoying. The shooter came to kill McDreamy but shot others as well. Why didn't one of the docs try to stab him with a needle filled with a knockout drug??
