'Glee's' Cory Monteith: 'Supernatural' monster's midnight snack
Before Cory Monteith was singing in the showers on "Glee," he showed up on "Supernatural" in one of his first-ever roles. Monteith made a guest appearance on the episode "Wendigo" as Gary, and while he didn't last long, his high-pitched scream is certainly memorable. We love Cory's bandanna -- but we don't love how quickly he gets gobbled up by the monster of the week, an immortal, evil cannibal who lives in caves and can only be killed with fire.
"Wendigo" was the first episode of "Supernatural" shot in Vancouver, B.C.. Monteith is a native of B.C., and his Canadian accent was much more noticeable back then! Now that he's playing Ohio native Finn Hudson, it's harder to hear it.
Want to check out the scene in high definition? Season 1 of "Supernatural" comes out on Blu-Ray DVD this Tuesday, June 15. If Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles weren't reason enough to pick up this box set, Monteith certainly is!

this is news? SUCK IT, Carina.
i think this is mostly a write-up for supernatural's blu-ray release, given a glee spin since people are gobbling up glee news/articles/praise-releases/etc.
also, they seem to have forgotten cory's longer stint over at kyle xy as charlie, kyle's rival in romance.
Canadian accent...seriously??? He sounds the same as the other guys in that scene.
No mention of his roles on Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis?
I totally saw this episode this morning while at the gym! I was like: "Hey it's Cory..."
Not news, friend, just a blog post! Thanks for the comment :)
I always hated Wendigo. Now that I love Finn, at least I can focus on the fact that Cory was in it for 5 seconds. Retroactive cool points FTW.
Love going back & rewatching episodes after people have become more famous. Go back & rewatch X-Files to see Ryan Reynolds, Luke Wilson, Jack Black, Giovanni Ribisi and many more.
The acting on Supernatural is laughable. What is with JA and JP's "Dark Knight" style voices? So annoying.
Seems weird that someone named "Gleehater" would be reading a blog post about Glee...
:)
