'Glee': Charice confirmed as recurring role; no 'Glee' movies yet, says Ryan Murphy

charice-getty.jpgIn the world of "Glee" ...

Charice, or Charmaine Clarice Relucio Pempengco, the internationally-known pop star from the Philippines, will be joining the "Glee" kids of McKinley High in a recurring guest role in Season 2, FOX confirms to Zap2it. She's got some pretty decent vocal chops (Oprah once called her the most talented girl in the world), so we can't wait to see her go up against Lea Michele's Rachel Berry.

In other "Glee' news, creator Ryan Murphy is dispelling the notion of any "Glee" movies coming to the big screen. Murphy tells EW, "There will be no 'Glee' movie in the foreseeable future. Despite overtures, I and the studio have decided we want to put our energy into the second season with no distractions for the cast."

It was recently revealed that the "Glee" actors all have a clause in their contracts for up to three feature length movies. But Murphy just said "foreseeable future" ...

So you're saying there's a chance!

I am disconcerted that this show seems to be evolving into a pure hype mode of production. It's become too much of a phenomenon, and I don't know if I can take much more 'celebrity of the week' shoehorned storylines. Fox series have a tendency to evolve into very commercial properties, and it looks like Glee is no exception. I am continually saddened to see it happen, but as we've seen with 'Bones' with its Avatar and Prius commercials-within-the-show, nothing is sacred as far as the suits at Fox are concerned.

Wow, so "Siansonea" would rather see a program fail than be successful?

It's all about ratings, honey. If a show doesn't draw an audience, it gets cancelled. End of story. "Hype" or phenomenon, or whatever you want to call it, brings in ratings.

If you can't handle watching a series that is successful, then by all means, don't watch it. No one is pointing a gun at your head.

As for BONES, the product placement offsets the cost of production. Would you rather they cut cast members, or find a way to keep the budget higher?

ALL NETWORK TELEVISION IS COMMERCIAL. If you think otherwise, you're just a f**king idiot.

I can't wait to see her on Glee. She is perfect for that role coz she has a great voice versatility and competent.

Glenn and ME*OW mix are right on the money. I've never heard of Charice, but Glee is awesome so I can't wait to see how they utilize her.

LOL! Finally, a cast member who actually is in high school. Charice just turned 18. And I agree with **** mix -- network television IS a commercial venture. And I'm sure the network execs think that Charice will bring in a larger audience demographic. And quite right they are.

Charice will be a big revelation to everyone who still do not know her. AMAZING VOCALS!

OMG! YouTube sensation Charice will invade Glee.

CHARICE in GLEE is the REAL DEAL!

I really like Charice...I'll be watching GLEE from now on!

We dont watch "Glee" we will now since the girl with the amazing voice will be there (Charice). My family love this girl.
