Elijah Wood signs on to FX pilot, A&E picks up 'Breakout Kings'

elijah-wood-getty-320.jpgElijah Wood has signed on to his first regular TV role. He'll starring in an FX comedy pilot called "Wilfred."

The pilot is based on an Australian comedy of the same name, and it's about a guy named Ryan ("Lord of the Rings" star Wood) and his dog, Wilfred, who's described as "part Labrador retriever and part Russell Crowe on a bender." Jason Gann, who co-created the Aussie show, will play Wilfred.

Yes, a man is playing the dog. Go with it. David Zuckerman ("Family Guy," "American Dad") adapted the show for FX and will exectuive produce with Rich Frank, Paul Frank, Jeff Kwatinetz, Joe Connor and Ken Connor. Gann is a co-exec producer, and Randall Einhorn ("The Office") will direct the pilot.

- A&E has picked up a drama series called "Breakout Kings," which FOX passed over during pilot season.

The show is about a group of convicts that assists U.S. marshals in tracking down fugitives. The cast includes Domenick Lombardozzi ("The Wire"), Laz Alonso ("Avatar"), Jimmi Simpson ("Date Night"), Malcolm Goodwin ("American Gangster") and Brooke Nevin ("Worst Week"). "Prison Break" veterans Matt Olmstead and Nick Santora created the show.

FOX initially developed the show and ordered a pilot for it this spring but opted not to pick it up for 2010-11.

- Another FOX pilot that didn't make the cut for 2010-11 may not be dead yet.

The network has asked for two more scripts for comedy called "Breaking In," Deadline.com reports. The pilot stars Christian Slater ("The Forgotten") as the head of a security firm who supervises an unruly bunch of hackers-turned-employees.

The cast also includes Bret Harrison ("Reaper") and Odette Yustman ("October Road"); Adam F. Goldberg ("Secret Girlfriend," "Still Standing") is the creator.

Elijah Wood is Satan on MySpace! Elijah and I have a mutual friend. Elijah has an alter ego on MySpace as Satan! haha! I asked "Satan" (Elijah) about it, and even though he thoroughly denied being Elijah Wood, I KNOW it is Elijah Wood running the page at myspace.com/thedevilsatan I know it's him! It's a funny comedy page that looks like it's mainly populated by atheists, (I'm an atheist myself) which shares the exact same writing style as Elijah! I wish Satan/Elijah would just admit that he really is Elijah Wood! Perhaps he is afraid of people getting mad at him or something. Who knows?

hahaha! I just sent him a IM on myspace and asked if he was Elijah Wood, and he said, and I quote: "NO! I'm NOT Elijah Wood! Jesus!" I then asked if he was saying he was Jesus. Satan responded with, and I quote: "No, I'm not Jesus either. However, if those were my only two choices, I'd choose to be Elijah." Then I asked if he liked Elijah. Satan responded with: "Yes, I love the actor Elijah Wood. However, I also love a liberal helping of limburger cheese, sardines, anchovies, and Bill Maher." WOW! My final judgment? I think Satan really is Satan, and Elijah Wood is even cooler than I already thought he was, if he is indeed Satan on myspace. Satan appears to be continuing to deny that he is Elijah Wood. I think Elijah would deny being Satan. If Satan claimed to be Elijah, I'd seriously doubt it. But since he's denying it, I think it's 50/50. His blogs rock! My favorite one is entitled, "The Bible."
