Bethenny Frankel on 'Real Housewives': Maybe she'd return in a 'lesser role'
Bethenny Frankel doesn't think it's likely she'll return to "The Real Housewives of New York City" unless some changes are made."It's not a cliche when I say I don't believe in staying at a party for too long," she tells Zap2it Thursday (June 3). "I just don't know what else there is to do there. If I had a lesser part in it and dipped in and dipped out once in a while, maybe.
"The purpose I have on the 'Housewives' is to comment not because anyone tells me to, but that's who I am. I guess, if they still need my running commentary, and I suppose the Greek chorus, perhaps I would do it. I don't know. I mean, you're seeing my life here [on 'Bethenny Getting Married?'], so I don't know what I'm doing there.
"What is there to say to Jill [Zarin]? There's nothing to say to Jill, there's nothing to say to Kelly [Bensimon]. She had a nervous breakdown on the show. I don't know what there is to say."
In comparison, Frankel is high on her new reality show spinoff, "Bethenny Getting Married?"
"['Real Housewives'] got heightened this season, let's say that, and my show is so refreshing compared to that," she adds. "I see Alex [McCord] and Ramona [Singer] on my show, which is really really nice and pleasant."
"Bethenny Getting Married?" centers on Frankel's personal and professional life -- from her pregnancy and life with fiancee Jason Hoppy to hiring a new assistant and writing her books. The show debuts on Bravo on Thursday, June 10 at 10 p.m.

I love bethanny too. I don't the new york group will be the same without her. I do like the new housewife, sonja, though. Alex has grown on me this season too.
Bethany makes the show. I just want to turn the channel now when I see Jill or Kelly. Kelly is just nuts and Jill is a self centered only has wealth because of her husband and flaunts it at every chance she can. All Jill does is disrespect everyone esp. at the fashion show she showed the worst behavior ever. She complained from the time she got there and even at her friend Luann's speaking even she sat in the front row and made a fool of herself texting or talking. Her daughter has better manners than her. Dear money does not buy you class! Big lesson for this season.
I LOVE Bethenny. I really doubt she'll be back next season considering she got her own spin-off. I think the dynamic between the women will be a bit off now, since she is probably leaving, especially with her, Ramona and Alex. And poor Alex. She has become a pretty big part of the Housewives franchise this season with putting Jill in her place and getting closer to Bethenny and strangely enough, Ramona.
I also love how Sonja interacts with all of the housewives and yet she's sort of an anchor between the two groups. She's on neither team but she's probably the most normal. I don't get a great vibe from Jen Gilbert since Bravo hardly focused on her when she was announced to be a new HW this season.
I have heard rumblings that Alex will be leaving the show, which is why they brought in Sonja and Jen, but I really hope that's just a rumor. I was never really a fan of Alex in the beginning, but her relationship with Bethenny and Ramona this season seemed to be really genuine and I hope they all remain friends off-camera as well.
As for Jill and Kelly and the Countess, they should just recast these three women because they are all partial to themselves and they're own BS that it makes me sick. Jill has become such a different person since S1 and she truly is that girl in HS that starts drama just because. And Kelly...oh Kelly, don't even get me started o that one.
I wish Bethenny the best of luck with her new show as I will be watching it. She was the most entertaining on the RHONY and I'm sure BGM? will also be a success!
I am thrilled to read that Bethenny visits with Alex and Ramona on her new show. It would be great if this show were continued for more seasons, with increased roles for Alex and Ramona, and if the RHWNY just disappeared altogether.
love Bethany, always have. i think ramona and alex will be great on her show - have always liked them too. i did like jill - no more... i never liked countless and have always thought kelly was a friggin wacko and she just keeps doing her best to reinforce that belief.
i am confident that bethany's show will be a hit. i sure hope so anyway and it's not like the Joey spinoff from Friends... but hey this is reality correct? different animal and i'll stick with my confident statement above.
Bethany is the best! She was classy & tried to reach out to Jill who had lots of excuses about not wanting anything to do with her. Everyone goes thru difficult times & if you friends wont forgive you or be there when you need them, find some new ones.
Kelli is such a mess & Countless is too conceited to discuss.
