'American Idol's' Kara DioGuardi: Loves Harry Connick Jr. as judge, Bret Michaels 'lovely'

Chalk up another "American Idol" person who is on board with Zap2it's campaign to get Harry Connick Jr. as Simon Cowell's replacement. Judge Kara DioGuardi had that idea before Connick even came on the show to mentor."I told them [to get Harry Connick Jr.] before he was even on the show. I've seen him play at some events and he'll take those horribly boring events and turn then into something interesting," says Kara. So would he be a good replacement for Simon? "No, he would be amazing."
But what about the Simon Replacement du jour, Bret Michaels? He seems like a popular choice.
"I've only spent a few minutes with Bret and he's lovely," Kara agrees. "What I liked about him is he's very open and he feels honest. When you're speaking to him it feels like he's speaking from his heart."
"But I don't know the basis of how these names are coming to the press," she continues. "I really think it's gotta be somebody who can help these kids and has experience as an artist and as an executive because that was Simon's strength."

I vote for Bret! Bret is more passionate than Harry. I think they would be lucky to get him. Bret could save the show.

People are acting like Simon wants to stay - he QUIT already.
Bret would be better than Harry Connick - not sure when Harry was a "pop star" -

But between Paula (one hit wonder) Abdul, Bret Michaels and Harry Connick, Jr - it has to be Bret!
Plus, he has already been a judge on Nashville Star.
I think Kara (Don't like)is looking to more or less take over on AI. Harry would be a good judge in that regard..Bret would not submit as she (the BIG ego) would want. Put Bret, Harry & leave Randy...get rid of Kara. Get rid of Kara. But then again if Bret is a judge..he just may keep her in her lowdown..sick...idiotic little place. EWWW!
Eww! get rid of that little idiot Kara! She would love to be the head honcho for that show. She picks Harry as he would work well for that. Don't think he'll go for her sick flirting. (there was something innocent about Paula doing that. It's just creepy with KDG..) Bret would be the star...personality...humor..knowledge & previously a judge...also wouldn't submit to Kara & her (she's hoping) Boss position. Eww Eww Kara! OUT with her..!!!
Sure she's going to say he's a great judge...because he might be the one to replace her on the show for next season. She thinks she's seriously coming back after this year's dismal ratings with the Degenerate? I don't think so.
I think Connick Jr would be better than Bret. Both are smart, but HCJr. is just sharper, knows most forms of music, comes with charisma and good humor.
For those that think Kara could push Connick around? What! Are you crazy?
Finally, I could do without remarks like Pierre calling Ellen the "Degenerate". She didn't do well as a judge, but blame the producers that said she was to mainly judge performances on other aspects than vocals...then producers decided it would be unfair to contestants who just sat on a stool or rug and who were "all about the vocals" to be judged outside that. Which put Ellen in the lame spot of being a vocals critic which she is unqualified to do.
Perhaps the best move would be to give her MC duties on performance nights, demote Ryan to just the half hour results night and go back to 3 judges, no more Ellen saying "the Twain has left" "nice song, it was perfect as can be".
Bret Michaels is the best choice. Kara and Connick Jr. together would have me muting the show when they're speaking or maybe not even watching it at all. Bret Michaels as a judge will have me eagerly watching the whole show every time!!!
