'American Idol' winner Lee DeWyze will sing at NBA Finals

Lee DeWyze, the reigning American Idol, will perform the National Anthem at Game 2 of the NBA Finals on Sunday, June 6. The song will be broadcast live from the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC before the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics.
The announcement of DeWyze's performance does not come as a surprise, as the NBA has a history of inviting "Idol" winners to the court for the coveted anthem spot during the championship series.
In fact, Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, David Cook, and Kris Allen have all performed at NBA championship games. For those keeping track, that makes Season 3's Fantasia Barrino the only "Idol" who hasn't worked with the NBA.
DeWyze and the rest of the "American Idol" Top 10 have been hard at work preparing for the American Idol 2010 Summer Tour and doing publicity work. The tour begins on July 1 in Auburn Hills, Mich. DeWyze will return to the STAPLES center on August 13 with the Idol tour.

Crystal Bowersox was the most talented singer . She is special and with more experiance will have great staying power. You go Girl! I think she was awesome. Lee has a nice voice as well but lacks individuality. I wish them both luck

Lee did the National Anthem justice! He sang it straight up and simple and in tune. There were no boos like there were with Kris and David, just applause. All I can say is EAT YOUR WORDS LEE NAYSAYERS!!
