'American Idol' David Cook does national anthem, Oasis in Utah
David Cook was kicking it in Salt Lake City at the Real Salt Lake soccer match, but he wasn't playing on the field.
The "American Idol" did, however, sing the national anthem at Rio Tinto Stadium Wednesday night (June 9) before kickoff.
Besides the "Star Spangled banner," he later sang a set list that included "Mr. Sensitive," "Light On," "I just Died in Your Arms Tonight" and "Come Back to Me."

He hasn't been performing because he has been writing and recording...and he has performed quite a few times this year...once he drops his new album he will probably go on tour
on top of that performing in front of 19,000 fans is never a bad thing when you are getting paid...
It cracks me up how Adam Lambert fans are so threatened by the other AI Alpha Dog, that they have to troll Cook mentions. LOL. It is not enough for them to just fanwar with Kris Allens fans. Perhaps if Lambert ever sells half as many albums and singles as Cook they will give it a rest.
Oh yeah, and David Cook is awesome! So is Adam, to be honest!

The reason this is news is the tour ended in Dec so David Cook fans are impatiently awaiting his new album that he has been busy with. We LOVE to see him anytime anywhere for any reason- he always sounds fantastic,always funny,entertaining,charismatic and HOT! Even the National Anthem sounds beautiful when he sings it!
To the dolt who says he "don't sound to good"... the bass is distorted in the video, fool. HE sounds great.
