'American Idol' alums unite: Kelly Clarkson and Chris Daughtry 'Fast Car' duet
"American Idol" Season 5 finalist Chris Daughtry had a special guest at his Nashville show on Sunday, May 30. Season 1 winner Kelly Clarkson joined him on stage to do a duet of Tracy Chapman's 1988 hit "Fast Car." Is it just us, or does Daughtry do a disturbingly good imitation of Chapman?
Clarkson recently performed on the Season 9 finale of "American Idol" along with the other past winners, except for David Cook, who had a prior commitment to a charity engagement.
Clarkson and Daughtry took some time backstage for an iPhone photo shoot. "Who could refuse these faces?" Clarkson tweeted.
Clarkson will soon be returning to the studio to work with Claude Kelly, who wrote her hit "My Life Would Suck Without You." He tells MTV News, "Kelly Clarkson is kind of a force of her own. Her voice and her mood determine what she does. So I just want to do what's on her heart 'cause that's how you get the best songs out of an artist like that, is for them to sing what they really mean."
