'X-Factor': Should Mariah Carey be a judge?

mariah-carey-gi-320.jpgAs speculation about Simon Cowell's replacement on "American Idol" swirls, there's equal excited about whom Cowell might pick to sit on the judges panel on his new endeavor, the American version of "The X-Factor."

Mariah Carey is the latest name (after Paula Abdul of course) that's been dropped as a possible judge, according to Monsters and Critics.

Sinitta, a U.S.-born pop star who lives in and gained most of her fame in the UK, reveals what Cowell is up to.

"I think he's still working it out. He's still looking at slides of different people's profiles and different personalities, A-list celebrities," she says. "It's very exciting and I was like: 'Oh my God, yes, they'll be great! Oh my God! Oh my God!' But I kind of wanted everyone.

"People who are interested? Oh I'm not allowed to say. It's amazing how many people want to do it. Everybody from Mariah [Carey] ... okay I'm not saying any more! Lots of people want to do it."

For what it's worth, Carey wouldn't be a bad choice. She certainly has the artistic chops, is endlessly entertaining (rent "Glitter") and her husband, Nick Cannon, can give her pointers from his hosting gig from "America's Got Talent."

She was also one of our picks for artists we'd like to get the "Glee" Madonna treatment.

There's no word yet from Carey's reps commenting on the rumor.

Nope, she is too fat for tv, that pig wont fit... Madonna who at 41 looks much better that MiMi, will be a great addition. Plus she is not a fat pig.

Mariah looks good for her age! Wth are you talking about?! Plus, judging has nothing to do with weight or appearance. People are so ridiculous these days. Madonna is off being crazy and pretending she's from the UK or somewhere else with her fake accents. It's 2010...get the hell out of here with that! Lol

Umm, No! She is a pre-madonna and selfish. I won't watch if it has her as a judge. She'll only be there to promote herself.

"Madonna who at 41"

She would absolutely be someone I would tune in to catch as a judge. I mean say what you want about the woman but she is one of the smartest and definitely on a totally different level with her singing. The most important thing that would make her more qualified than many is that she is more than just a voice. She is so talented and genius in every aspect of music. She knows what she's talking about and doing.

Mariah would make an amazing judge on Xfactor, i hope she gets the chance to be one.
Hr voice is better than anyone around today still.

omg! she would be perfect!! who else than the queen of pop to do the show :)

I like Mariah Carey's sense of humor and she's a professional when it comes to singing, so I think she'd be a great judge. And by the way this article is about Mariah, no need to drag the old hag corpse Blahddona in to this.

**** You are stupid and dumb for saying that.. I wanna see how you look....

I was talking to the idot who said she was too fat for tv ugh pissed me off
