I think if ABC were smart, they would move the recently saved V to Fridays at 9 and pair it with something genre similar to create "Sci-fi Fridays". I think this could finally give good competition to Ghost Whisperer and Medium (if it survives) and make the ratings V gets now seem like timeslot winners.
The 10 p.m. time slot shows all draw around 6 million viewers, I think "Miami Medical" may be renewed just so CBS has something to put there. What else are they going to put there, another news-mag?
Surprising to me that Ghost Whisperer takes a slightly greater share of viewers than Medium. The latter is, in my opinion, far superior viewing fare. G.Whisp has gone in really looney directions since its beginning. That and the so obvious "I am a clotheshorse with cleavage" look of its main character are some of the reasons why I am no longer a steady viewer. The imbalance in her character and the others is so disproportional and its obvious that few co-stars can survive her shadow. So I have stopped watching it (since the beginning of the 3rd season).
Medium, on the other hand, holds my attention. The Dubois family, for all the giftedness of its women, is so normal and the story lines are fascinating. Keep them coming!
Agree Medium have an amazing storyline and. CBS have to renewed this awesome shoe at least 1 more season the show derserve the chance
I disagree with you, Alex. CBS probably won't keep Miami Medical. CBS' is carrying expensive scripted dramas and getting blitzed in the most important category, demo's 18-49, by ABC's potent combo of newsmagazines. Not only are CBS' scipted fare being killed in demo but also they are barely winning the viewer total category. Not good!
I just recently began to watch Medium. Found the reruns while channel-surfing and started DVRing them. Don't know what it is, but I really like this show. Why would CBS cancel a show that consistently wins its time slot? At any rate, I hope they renew Medium. If not, maybe the limping NBC will welcome it back...
Season 3 of Ghost Whisperer was rather uneven. Season 4, so far has been quite good and moving back to those elements that made the first season so solid. Medium is a lot stronger on CBS than it was on NBC, but for some reason Arquette doesn't hold the older audience. That seems to be the only reason Medium's numbers are a little lower than Whisperer's. I enjoy them both. I'm glad they win their evening.
I would bet that CBS will cancel Miami Medical, i mean it's getting last in a weak field, & CBS doesn't usually tolerate such nonsense.

@Christine: There is no such thing as a "key adult demo".
Demos don't mean anything when it comes to selling advertising.
All they're used for is for PR to generate imaginary "wins" to report to out-of-touch boards.
Please don't fall into that trap again. :)
Otherwise, Friday is entirely up for grabs and is ideal to launch and develop new shows into hits.
But look for the networks to place their least politically connected shows there and not spend more than a couple pennies promoting them.
