miami-medical-golden-hour.jpgFast National ratings for Friday, April 30, 2010

A typically quiet Friday in the Nielsen ratings turned into a battle between CBS and NBC, with CBS grabbing a win in viewers and NBC holding off its rival in the adults 18-49 demographic.

CBS drew 6.5 million viewers and a 4.3 rating/8 share in households for the evening, a little better than NBC's 6.2 million and 4.2/8. ABC (3.8 million, 2.5/5) came in third. FOX (2.8 million, 1.8/3) was fourth, and The CW brought up the rear with 1.9 million viewers and a 1.3/2.

NBC led the 18-49 demo with a modest 1.5 rating, edging CBS' 1.4. ABC's 1.2 was good enough for third, followed by FOX, 0.9, and The CW, 0.7.

ENJOY THE REFRESHING TASTE OF DIET DR. PEPPER WHILE WATCHING YOUR FAVORITE SHOWS INCLUDING THE SEASON FINAL OF COLD CASE ONLY ON CBS. 59dd3

with tv this horrible, i'm surprised anyone watches the networks at all anymore...it's like one big cr@p-pile.

Smallville keeps getting better and better. Looking forward to season10.

We had bad tornadic weather in our viewing area of St Louis MO, so Ghost Whisperer was cut the last 10 minutes, than Medium and Miami Medical didnt record at all.

@Rick: I'll caution about claims of shared victories.

It's exactly how Variety and the Hollywood Reporter's slide into meaninglessness started.

Prodded by NBC, they started calling dual victories and as other networks got into the PR spin dance, they started calling victories for almost anything that hadn't been canceled as long as it's not on CBS (which apparently doesn't really care about ratings coverage).

The end result can be found in last week's Variety as Rick Kissell called the season full of "solid performers", found 11 new hits and ranked NCIS LA, the only show that could rationally be called a hot, #6 of the new season by figuring out a reason to prefer 5 highly hyped shows to the one real performer.
