'True Blood': BBC's Lara Pulver joins as new immortal
British actress Lara Pulver has joined the "True Blood" cast for Season 3, a spokesperson for HBO confirms to Zap2it.Best known as Isabella in the BBC series "Robin Hood," Pulver has also starred in several theatre productions in London's West End.

Pulver has been cast as Claudine, Sookie's fairy godmother in The Southern Vampire Mysteries books, which "True Blood" is based on. If the TV series follows the books at all, we will probably learn more about the origin of Sookie's mind reading powers and her family history as Claudine is related to Sookie.
Fairies can live to a very old age and they're very attractive to humans and almost irresistible to vampires. Their superhuman strength, though, places them on a whole new playing field. Let's just say they don't exactly play the damsel in distress much.

A major casting coup. Lara Pulver is an excellent actor - she sparked every scene she was in in ROBIN HOOD series 3. I have no doubt she'll do the same in TRUE BLOOD.
This is the worse casting decision they have made for True Blood.
Didn't anyone read the description of Claudine in the books?
Thank you Adora! I was thinking the SAME thing. It seems to me the men on this show are cast perfectly but by and large the women are off the mark. And as a sidenote I HATED this actress in Robin Hood. Loathed. Ruined an otherwise perfectly crafted show for me. She was written as a character with enough beauty to use it to get her way. She is average looking at best.
