'Supernatural' finale preview: The Sam Winchester 2010 Farewell Tour
"Supernatural" season finales tend to be devastating. The first season left all three Winchesters hanging by a thread after being run down by a truck (driven by a demon, of course). At the end of Season 2, Sam died in Dean's arms. At the end of Season 3, Dean died in Sam's arms.
Season 4 wrapped up with a gaping hole in the ground, out of which Lucifer himself crawled. Betcha can't do that that, "Grey's Anatomy."
Given the show's track record, we're thinking things for Sam and Dean are going to get a heck of a lot worse before they get better in the Season 5 finale, "Swan Song". This (super spoilery) clip shows Sam saying his final goodbyes to his loved ones, now that he's decided to hand the controls over to Lucifer.
Sam and Bobby hug it out, and he tries to give Castiel one last lesson in being human. It's not particularly successful.
As for Dean... we'll have to wait until Thursday night (May 13) to see that goodbye. Though we're sure that even if Sam does die, he'll be back for more in Season 6, we still can't wait to hear what he thinks may be his last words to his big brother.

Thursday's episode is going to be tough to watch. Imma be ready with my box of tissues. Can't wait!
Tissues? Not me. The last episodes have been a mess. The foreshadowing of this episode seems like a mess too. Goodness, such lame lines - all trying to portray Sam as the best-thing-we-have-ever-seen (Bobby`s speech - Sam is the best - lamest thing ever...)
I`m done! And I am not coming back. Kripke - you ruined show by not following up all the wonderful plots from season 4.
Cassandra, the show was ruined when they came back with a fifth season in the first place.
(Psst! They lied about that, you know.)
If you haven't got anything nice to say seriously why say anything at all you don't want to watch don't watch. By stop complaining about it just get on with it.
I think the reason people are complaining is because the first few seasons were so much fun to watch, and now it's all doom and gloom. I love this show, but much prefer the earlier episodes. You could go back and watch one and not have to think about what happened in the episode before in order to make sense of the one you're watching. Give me back the demon/witch/vampire/ghost or crature of the week format. Those were fun AND scary.
s6 they go back as to how s1 was so stop complaining already sheesh
I don't mind the doom and gloom bit since there were always elements of humor (read the Supernatural quotables), but the lack of a straight forward storyline sucked. They'd be all "Apocalypse" one week then have a regular episode.
I wish Season 6 would be more fun, scary fun, that it. Enough of the doom and gloom of this season!
Stop bashing my show!
I agree with Dean. We're trying to save the world and all you people do is complain!
