'So You Think You Can Dance': Mia Michaels will judge and choreograph for Season 7
Mia Michaels is back.
The Emmy-winning choreographer will replace Mary Murphy as a permanent fixture on the "So You Think You Can Dance" judging panel this season, but according to Michaels, her new role on the show will not keep her from choreographing.
"I'm definitely doing group, but I probably will dabble in and out of some duets. Maybe. We'll see!," she says. "I'm really excited. It's great to be back home."
Regarding the decision to bring her on as a full-time judge, taking Murphy's permanent spot, Michaels feels the transition is somewhat natural. "I think that the show was just changing up in so many different areas and they just wanted some new energy up there and so we're just going with it," she explains.

Mia totally plays favorites! I don't like her. At least Mary was real and honest.
I prefer Mary as a judge
Mia is a complete dance snob and very caught up in her own persona. I love her work and think she is very talented-although some of her 'creative' ideas seem to be borrowed from the competitive world of dance that the choreographers sometimes like to act superior to. I don't like it when she humiliates kids and then pretends its for their benefit so they can grow and she does have FAVS!!!!!
