Report: CBS cancels 'Ghost Whisperer,' 'Numbers' and five more shows
CBS could be making some bold moves in order to open up some space in its fall schedule.Tried and true procedurals "Ghost Whisperer," "Numbers" and "Cold Case" haven't been renewed, along with four other shows, says The Hollywood Reporter's Live Feed blog. This is a surprising turn for "Ghost" especially, since it consistently won its Friday night time period.
Also going the way of the dodo would be "Miami Medical" and comedies "Accidentally on Purpose," "New Adventures of Old Christine" and "Gary Unmarried."
It appears the network wants to reinvigorate its programming and possibly its audience as well.
CBS will confirm any cancellations and pickups at the upfront presentation on Wednesday, May 19.

PU to all of them!!!
Figures, good shows like Numbers and Miami Medical get the axe and garbage like Big Brother keeps coming back. How about getting rid of a few of the NCIS shows instead?
So happy to hear this news from CBS. Medium has been renewed as well as Rules of Engagement but very happy about Old Christine biting the dust as well as that horrible Elfman show. BRAVO CBS!
GW?! Say it isn't so...... Has only continued to get better and scarier as time has passed. Leave it to CBS to get rid of he few winners it has-
GW lost me when they "killed" Jim off and I can't stand Jamie Kennedy. Medium is still solid and I hopes it stays around for a while, the Dubois family and cast rocks :)
Leave it to CBS to dump the better, over 20 mentality shows for more "reality (NOT!)" and "comedy" (NOT!)shows- they were actually getting to the top of the ratings after a thousand years at the bottom- I guess they can't stand prosperity.
Tips for shows that are looking for a new direction ...
1) Do NOT introduce a baby;
2) Do NOT jump 5 years ahead;
3) Never, EVER do 1 & 2 together unless you want to be canceled
WHAT!?! This cannot be! GW is the ONLY show worth watching on Friday nights right now.
Good riddance to Ghost Whisperer. They went such a wacky route with the husband's body jumping, the 5 year jump ahead in time and that horribly annoying child.
As for 'Medium', I hope CBS renews it, as the 'shark' is still nowhere in sight after 5 years since the writers still find ways to keep things fresh....and unlike GW, they know not to mess with the original formula.
I wonder if ABC may decide to pick up Ghost Whisperer as it is an ABC produced show.
