'Morning Glory' trailer: Rachel McAdams makes news
How you feel about the trailer for "Morning Glory" will depend in large part on how you feel about its star, Rachel McAdams. And also how you feel about "Broadcast News."
The movie, which is set for release in November, stars McAdams as the producer of a bottom-dwelling morning news show who hires a legendary anchorman whose star has faded (Harrison Ford) to pair with the show's current host (Diane Keaton). Love-hate ensues, both on and off camera. Jeff Goldblum and Patrick Wilson also star.
McAdams looks to be playing the Holly Hunter role from "Broadcast News" -- the driven young woman whose strongest relationship is with her job (to the detriment of whatever she has with Wilson's character). And despite the presence of Ford and Keaton, who have pretty good comedic chemistry, it will be her movie to carry.
"Morning Glory" comes from J.J. Abrams' company, Bad Robot, but there are no monsters or alternate universes to be found. It's just a straight-up romantic comedy, directed by Roger Michell ("Notting Hill") and written by Aline Brosh McKenna ("The Devil Wears Prada," "27 Dresses").
So what do you think of the trailer? Can McAdams outshine her more experienced co-stars and really bring it?
