Jim Carrey, Brad Pitt, Stephen Colbert nab Webby Awards
Jim Carrey and Brad Pitt might have never gotten their hands on an Oscar -- but they can now put "Webby-winning actor" in front of their names. Both film stars took home honors for their work and achievements on the web for the 14th annual Webby Awards. Pitt won in the activism category for his online efforts to help rebuild New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina with his Make It Right Foundation. Carrey's official fan site scored a Webby and a People's Voice Award (the latter voted on by the web community) for its creativity and offbeat humor.
Stephen Colbert was also honored for Comedy Central's "Colbert Nation" as was movie critic Roger Ebert for his blog Robert Ebert's Journal. Ebert was also named the Webbys "Person of the Year."
The Webbys honor "excellence" in over 100 website, interactive advertising, online film and video, and mobile web categories.
