'Hawaii Five-0' preview: Alex O'Loughlin goes shirtless

hawaii-five-0-alex-o-loughlin-video-320.jpgThe "Hawaii Five-O" extended preview gives all the gratuitious beach bodies it can realistically (or not) fit into a crime show.

Besides star Alex O'Loughlin pulling off his shirt for a very flimsy contextual reason in the preview, we also see more shots of Grace Park (playing Kono Kalakaua) in a bikini than fully clothed.

We are not complaining ... just sayin'.

Besides the Hawaiian-flavored eye candy, there's still the promise of some good plot, and in the intro we see Whedon-verse fan favorite James Marsters doing the menacing bad guy thing he does so well.

Also, the friction between O'Loughlin's Lt. Commander Steve McGarrett and Det. Danny Williams (Scott Caan) looks hilarious. Then there's the classic "Book 'em, Dano" line. So far, we're still excited by what we see here.

Take a look:

"Hawaii Five-0," which also stars Daniel Dae Kim, airs on Mondays on CBS in the fall.

I'll watch anything that involves Alex O'Loughlin taking his shirt off. I don't care how flimsy the reason! Wowsers!

Also, I love seeing a non-blonde James Marsters(he was fantastic on his guest spot of Torchwood) and Scott Caan always bring a little humor. Here's to hoping it's a good show and CBS let's it stick around awhile, oh and that Alex takes off his shirt often as well...

Looks good to me. Might have me a new cop show to like. I miss "Nash Bridges" (also from CBS)... it was the last cop show I was honestly wild about, nothing has filled it's shoes sufficiently since ("Numbers" came close).

I'll be watching this "Hawaii Five-0".

I just hope CBS stands behind it and gives it a proper chance to succeed. Network TV is too trigger happy these days... if "Seinfeld" had been launched today it wouldn't have made it to a 2nd season (it had a low rated 1st season).

When I first heard that they were re-making this show I thought it was a terrible idea. When I heard who had been cast I became mildly interested. After seeing the trailer, I am now actively looking forward to it.

This show looks awesome! It may not be old school Hawaii Five-O but shirtless is part of the Hawaii image. I can't wait to see it!

This looks terribly generic.

Hawaii 5-0 I can't wait to see Alex back on my screen again and the rest of this cast ROCKS too. They are going to have an amazing show. Pardise in paradise... it sounds like a win/win situation to me! Hurry up September!!!

This looks terribly generic. Ho hum.

Awesome, Alex O' Laughlin and James Marsters on the same show!!!

When I first read about CBS planning a remake "Hawaii Five-O," I rolled my eyes. I was too young to watch the original series when it aired, but became a fan watching the reruns in syndication. A remake had zero appeal and I had no intentions of tuning in for the new version.

Having stated that, I must admit the preview has me intrigued. It actually looks good! The cast appears to have nice chemistry in the clips, and it seems to have a fresh take on the show (when I was expecting a stale imitation). I will definitely be checking out the show this fall.
