'Glee': Matthew Morrison is anti-Britney Spears
Britney Spears may just want to rethink her "Glee" campaign.The singer's manager has been lobbying for a special Britney-centric episode like the recent Madonna one, but Matthew Morrison isn't so keen on the idea.
Morrison, who plays show choir director Will Schuester on "Glee," was asked what he thought about a possible Britney-themed episode happening.
"That's a rumor her manager started," he told Us Weekly on the red carpet of the May 1 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner. "I hope our show doesn't go along that route."
Oh, Mr. Schue, that was a wee bit harsh. But we can't say we disagree altogether.
Is Morrison right? Or do you think Britney's songs are iconic enough for her own "Glee" episode?

So he can rap every freaking episode and sound horrible at it, but he's dissing on a Britney episode. Matthew Morrison needs to suck it up and deal with it. I think Glee would be hilarious and awesome if they had a Britney episode! Morrison always seemed kind of arrogant to me anyway, and he def didn't deserve to get a Golden Globe nomination, before any of the other talented males on Glee. You aren't the show Mr. Morrison, if anyone is the show (which isn't the case cause its an ensemble show) that would be Ms. Jane Lynch.

I think they could do one or two of her songs and maybe she could guest star, but I don't think a whole episode of just Britney is good. I think that is what he was saying. I think he doesn't want to focus one episode on just one musician. I'd agree. Other than Madonna, I would only think Michael Jackson would deserve a whole episode.

I agree with his comments. I listened to a lot of Britney songs growing up, but now that I'm older I don't. Her music, while catchy, is not memorable and doesn't transcend time. Britney has her time and now it's over.
Actually this guy is extremely nice and was the only cast member to meet fans after the Glee performance at the White House. He took about 200+ pics with fans (including my 9 year old son!)
I couldn't agree with him more. A Brittany episode is the wrong direction for the show...which means so much to so many.

Sure MM could have been more PC about his opposition to an entire Spears-a-palooza episode, but that does not mean he is opposed to an appropriately placed song in an episode. I suspect his comments - although correct! - were taken out of context a bit. If a Britney song makes sense, then use it. But Brit and Co, don't expect Glee to do your job for you and help you keep your mansions (plural) and your entourage.
Hi, I understand Matthew point about this he probably meaning that Britney Spears have not being around much as Madonna has being in the music industry. Britney being around since 1993 Madonna being around longer than her. I'm shock no one has thrown around Tina Turner or Cher to have songs on that show to me they should do them before doing Britney maybe in 3 or 4th seasons they should do it but not right now this is my take now.
