Gabourey Sidibe's mom tries out for 'America's Got Talent,' is 'pleased' with performance

Alice Tan Ridley, mother to Oscar-nominated "Precious" star Gabourey Sidibe, is trying her hand at the screen -- she auditioned for NBC summer talent show "America's Got Talent."Ridley tells RadarOnline, "I was pleased with my performance and I think that I did well actually. The judges knew who I was and the audience really supported me, so, I think that I can make it through to the next stage."
Ridley is a known subway performer in New York City (video below) and since "America's Got Talent" loves both an interesting backstory plus vocal acts, we think she stands a good stance. She is mum on how the judges liked her, though, because she isn't allowed to give too much away. Ridley does tease, "People will just have to watch the show to see how I did - I better not say anything else in case I get into trouble."

She's really good. I would think they passed her through just fine.
She was on a short-lived show called "30 Seconds to Fame" and won her episode. I could see her doing well.
Everyone knows that America's Got Talent is a rigged show. An artist the caliber of Alice probably only agreed to do such a show because they made an arrangement for her to win. She really doesn't need to stoop to doing such a show - she is way better than that. But I guess she could use the money. And she deserves every cent.
they are really going out of their way to put losers and subway performers in the international limelight, this is an insult to performers that have worked in entertainment all their adult lives only to be upstaged by a subway performer, AGT SHOULD RE-THINK WHO THEY ALLOW ACCESS TO THE STAGE, LETS TRY TO SECURE MORE DESERVING PERFORMERS.
AND WHAT CALIBER IS THAT? A SUBWAY PERFORMER, THAT'S THE BOTTOM OF THE BARREL, SHE ONLY PIGGYBACKING HER WAY IN BECAUSE OF THE BLOATED PERFORMANCE OF HER DAUGHTER IN THE DISGUSTING MOVIE SHE MADE, IT'S NOT FAIR THAT SHE GOES TO THE FRONT OF THE LINE, AND THE MORE DESERVING ARTISTS ARE OVERLOOKED!!!
Regardless of how she got the audition, there is no doubt this woman is extremely talented and deserves to be given a chance. She is much more talented than her daughter.

I don't know how anyone could say that Alice Ridley is not talented. She was amazing and deserves to win America's Got Talent. Anyone who says different is just deaf or jealous.
