'FlashForward' to finish series with a cliffhanger

cho-fiennes-flashforward-320.jpgThe first season of ABC's "FlashForward" will finish this Thursday (May 27) with D-Day.

We'll finally find out whether the visions of each characters' future, which we saw when the show began last fall, will in fact come true.

But the story wasn't meant to end there as Mark (Joseph Fiennes) will also discover the date of the next impending blackout.

Unfortunately for fans, however, the series itself will fade to black before that storyline plays out, as the show was canceled a couple weeks ago.

Sources tell Korbi TV, Thursday's finale was shot before the writers knew the show's dismal fate, so it will definitely end with a cliffhanger.

Still, the payoffs we've been promised since Episode 1 should be enough for loyal viewers of "FlashForward" to stick around for, don't you agree? After all, it was the show Zap2it readers said they'd miss the most.

Will you turn on your set Thursday night to see which visions of the future, in particular, come to fruition?

Or will you not bother, knowing that "FlashForward" won't be back next year?

I will def. watch it! If not on TV, then on ABC.com. I would like to thank Zap2it for releasing stories about our beloved show! Thank you so much, it is better than any other website has done.

Plese ABC dont cancel this show! Please!

Thanks for the update, Korbi. So frustrating to have a cliffhanger, but it's nice that we'll still get a somewhat satisfying ending. I'm guessing it'll be emotionally satisfying.

I'll definitely tune in, and pray to the TV gods/ABC execs that somebody decides to uncancel (it could totally pull a Jericho, right?).

ABC has been trying to break my heart this year. LOST is over, Better off Ted is dead, and now FlashForward got blacked out. Ugh. I should just stick to cable.

I will watch the season finale of Flashforward with a heavy heart knowing that we will not see it next season.... It is one of many shows I watched that have been canceled but the one I will miss the most! =0(

I love Flashforward you have to keep it on the air. It has so many great story lines and twists and it keeps everybody on the edge of their seat.

Don't have a tv, but I'll definitely be watching it on hulu. Still hoping the show's producers remembered to put on their QED ring so it won't actually black out!

I can't believe they cancelled this show. It was my favorite show for this season.

The storyline was awesome, the acting was decent, and there were so many characters that they could have really gone anywhere with it (killed characters etc.).

I will watch the finale and then I will pick up the book.

ABC totally dropped the ball on this one. I hate how they had the 3 month hiatus after only so few episodes in. Really hard for them to gain in viewers that way.

I don't watch V nor will I ever.

And I hate all the Reality TV that's out there. It drives me nuts. It's horrible television and it kills "smart" shows like this one.

I love this show and now that Lost is over it is my favourite show to watch. It is so exciting and original. Its a real pity it's going to be cancelled especially with the Final cliffhanger. :-(

I'll definitely watch the finale tomorrow night but this is the last time ABC sucks me in with one of their new shows that I fall in love with only to have them cancel it after one year. Namely, Invasion, The Unusuals, and Flash Forward. If they'd killed V it would have made them completely idiotic. When will they learn you have to give shows more than one year to build an audience????

Robert Sawyer (who wrote the book) said that they filmed an alternate ending in case the series wasn't picked up. How sure are you that these sources are correct, because I would think he would have a pretty good idea.

That said, I'll watch tomorrow night, but I'll be really p.o.'ed if it ends with a cliffhanger (I know there are several campaigns to get the show get picked up by another network or to possibly even get ABC to reconsider, but I don't think any of those are going to pan out).

Yes, I will watch the finale and I hope they change their mind. Why kill such a great one?
