First look: The CW's 'Nomads,' Wyoming pilots
The CW will announce its lineup for the 2010-11 season on May 20, but you can get a peek at two of its possible new shows right now.
The network has released a couple of images from its pilots "Nomads" and the untitled Wyoming project (also known as "The Damn Thorpes"). "Nomads" stars "Friday Night Lights" alum Scott Porter, Michaela McManus ("One Tree Hill," "Law & Order: SVU") and Luke Ford as young travelers who, as a way to finance their treks to various spots around the world, agree to work for the CIA. Here's a shot of Porter:
And another of Porter and Jeremiah Hundley. We're guessing there was a complication in the mission.
The Wyoming project comes from "Gilmore Girls" creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and her husband/creative partner, Daniel Palladino. It stars Sean Faris ("The Vampire Diaries," "Reunion") as a horse trainer who's forced to take over his parents' ranch after their death and also looks after his three younger sisters. The show also stars British actress Scarlett Johnson ("EastEnders") as a character named Lucy December -- who based on the photo below will be a possible love interest for Faris.
The CW also has pilots called "Nikita" (an update of "La Femme Nikita"), "Betwixt" (a supernatural drama), "Hellcats" (about college cheerleaders) and "HMS" (which follows students at Harvard Medical School) competing for spots on the schedule.

Love Scott Porter aka Jason Street on Friday Night Lights. Can't wait to see his new show. I wish him much success!
Sean Faris? I'm in!!!!
Sean Faris and Amy Sherman-Palladino in the same project?! Oh I'm already a fan lol.
HOLY HELL something Orignal from the CW..
nomads looks awesome! it looks like alias mixed with backpacking... this is the kind of thing college students (like me) wanna see... not some disney cheerleaders with an obvious plot like hellcats
i love the sound of BOTH of these, how awesome is that?
also deeply stoked about nikita... but it's odd that it's the same development year as nomads.
I don't even want to look at the pictures knowing that these are probably the last two the CW would consider picking up. Hellcats, Nikita, and Betwixt look like locks on the schedule for them and since they've said they're only picking up three new shows, that leaves no room for these. Naturally the CW goes with the predictable Hellcats. I'd love the CW to pick these two up (have since pilot synopsis/casts were first released), but I'm not getting my hopes up. Did that with Body Politic last year.
@Lindsey let's hope they learned their lesson with melrose place
and the Beautiful Life!!!
I hope so. I've been reading the latest pilot buzz, though, and everything seems to be saying the same thing--Hellcats, Nikita, and Betwixt. I can see how Nikita and Betwixt make perfect sense. Why they'd pick up a show about the "inside world of competitive cheerleading" after the disaster that was The Beautiful Life is beyond me. I guess we'll see. *fingers crossed*
