'Desperate Housewives' finale sneak peek: EP on Lynette's labor pains

A few episodes back on "Desperate Housewives," we learned that Eddie (played amazingly by Josh Zuckerman) was The Fairview Strangler. After learning that Eddie had a very dysfunctional life (which crossed each housewife in one way or another), Lynette (Felicity Huffman) stepped in and invited him to stay with her.

In the last episode, Lynette discovered that The Fairview Strangler's body count was rising and that Eddie's mother was one of them. When she went to break the news to Eddie, she found herself in peril.

"She's going into labor during this episode," executive producer Bob Daily tells us. "She's there without a doctor and there are complications."

The producers went out of their way to show us that Eddie's psycho killer turn was the result of numerous monsters in his life. His father left at a very early age and his mother (so convincingly played by Diane Farr) held that against him as she spiraled into alcoholism and promiscuity. So, we wondered what would happen to Eddie, who didn't choose the family he was born into.

"There's a chance Eddie will get redemption in the finale and there's also some real danger to Lynette's baby," Daily tells us. "And they both sort of happen at the same time. There will be an opportunity for redemption. You have to see if he gets it or not."

The season finale of "Desperate Housewives" airs Sunday at 9 p.m. on ABC.
