'Dancing With the Stars' show rep on Julianne Hough's return: 'It's way too soon to tell' [UPDATE]
Is Julianne Hough dusting off her "Dancing" shoes? The short answer: Time will tell. Access Hollywood reports that a show source claims Hough's definitely returning to "Dancing With the Stars" for Season 11 this fall.
Zap2it spoke with the "Dancing With the Stars" rep who tells us, "It's way too soon to tell" since the show has to choose the new season's celebrities first.
"The pro cast is determined by what celebrities are cast," says show rep.
The "DWTS" rep went on to explain that some of the popular pro dancers from seasons past (Karina Smirnoff, Lacey Schwimmer, Kym Johnson, etc.) did not appear in Season 10, and that's because "DWTS" tries to pair up pros and celebs by personality and overall fit --- and if the pairing isn't right, a pro dancer might not return.
Zap2it spoke to editors at Access Hollywood, who first reported the Hough news, and they stand by their story. FOX 411 is now also claiming Julianne will return to the show. So the Zap2it verdict is: We haven't unequivocally solved the Hough mystery just yet. However, evidence points to another sibling showdown between Julianne and brother Derek.
The pro/celeb cast is typically announced 3 - 5 weeks before the premiere of the show, so we have a ways to go before we know whether Hough will return.
While Hough awaits her "DWTS" fate, she'll be keeping plenty busy. She's scheduled to shoot "Footloose" this summer (although the project is in limbo right now after both Zac Efron and Chase Crawford have dropped out as the lead), release her second album in the fourth quarter of 2010 and her first major film, "Burlesque" in November.
Hough last appeared on "DWTS" in Season 8 when she was paired with real-life partner (from whom she's since split) country singer Chuck Wicks.
[UPDATE: Additional reporting on Hough's possible "DWTS" return included at 8:41 p.m EST]

Why did Evan get all 10's and Nicole only got 9's?????? She was just as good or even better than Evan....The judges are screwie at times on their judging...I almost quit watching because of Your so call head judge Len....He is too harsh and under scores the good dancers....
I really hope Julianne comes back! She was the best pro on the show! That would be awesome! It just hasn't been the same without her.
Maybe next season Derek will get a partner who is not a dancer by trade.
Why did Samantha the co-host leave the program? She really seemed to be quite an asset to the show, nice to the competitors and the audience. The new girl is nice but she has quite a way to learn to be simple, interested in people and ways of conducting the program in unison with the male host who is really se-sa-tional!
She's coming back cuz her singing career hasn't been that hot.
Responding to Max's comment: Uh...Nicole is not a trainded Dancer!!!!!. the only Pussycat Doll who actually is was Carmit. She was the redhead. She has done burlesque shows and even choreographed a Tango routine from the film "Take the Lead" so quit harping on Nicole. If we're gonna bash her than I am upset that Evan and Erin are on the show as well becasue sorry....he knows Choreography as well and has to learn it for his routined performances and Erin...which no one will confess has a sister who is a professional dancer and she was in a cheerleading squad in high school and a dance trouped througout college.....so get over it!!!.
